Basic U.S. Soldier Pay In 1969

And a decade later when I joined the Navy it was an E4's pay was 504.90
Of course circa 1969 the Army was mostly draftee based.With far more men in the ranks than later on.
It's a good thing that it now doesn't cost the ruling class mere pennies to send boys off to die.
Maybe this reflects the pay scale after I left VN in April,'69. Same rank and time in service. I recall a little less.
