The former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett has said in an interview that Vladimir Putin told him he would not try to kill Volodymyr Zelenskiy, a promise made during a trip to Moscow shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine last year.

Speaking on a podcast with the Israeli journalist Hanoch Daum, published on Sunday, Bennett said he received assurance from Putin that the Ukrainian president’s life was not at risk during a secretive visit to the Russian capital last March aimed at mediation during the war’s early days.

Just like he wouldn’t invade Ukraine? Putin doesn’t keep promises so zelensky would have been dead if Russia had a capable army.

Maybe Putnam can get a fortune cookie from China. They could wish for a united S.S.S.R than Chinas can wish for their old territory back after they try to annex the ukies. Poor Ruskies being conscripted into a war. What would happen if a bigger war broke out. Going to conscript more Ruskies that the regular military could not handle? Send in the weather balloons!

No you are wrong.
This is one of the mysteries of this war.
Unlike Iraq or Afghanistan the enemy senior leadership has not been, ,killed, isolated or forced into hiding.
This is one of Russia's mistakes, among ,many.
It is part of the reason they have had so many problems since February last year.

That doesn't mean Zelensky is safe. From day one it was always going to be the nationalists who he has to watch out for. See: his interior minister that started investigating Azov.
