Moldova's New Prime Minister Wants Russian Troops Expelled From Transistria And The Integration Of This Region Into Moldova (Update)

NEWIZV: Tame Transnistria. The Moldovan authorities are going to disarm the rebellious territory

The new Prime Minister of Moldova announced his intention to seek the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria, with the subsequent integration of this region into the country's economy.

Interesting events have been unfolding recently in Moldova.

As you know, on February 10, the government of Natalia Gavrilitsa resigned, and on the same day, President Maya Sandu of the country nominated Dorin Rechan for the post of prime minister.

And now the new prime minister of the country is already making the first and very loud statements that Moldova should not confuse defense with neutrality, since he will not insure the country against aggression.

And besides, according to him, the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Republic should be demilitarized and Russian troops should withdraw from it, and after that the inhabitants of the region will need to be integrated into the social and economic life of the country:

Update: The Prime Minister of Moldova demanded the withdrawal of the Russian army from Transnistria (NEWIZV)

WNU Editor: The newly appointed Prime minister of Moldova is making his intentions very clear even though his government is denying any planned provocations against Transistria .... Moldova denies Russian claim of planned provocation against Transnistria, urges calm (Kyiv Independent).

This story is not getting the news coverage in the West that it deserves. This could be a flashpoint that can quickly escalate and expand the war to involve another country (i.e. Moldova) and neighboring NATO member Romania.

Update #2: Moldova's former President is raising the alarm .... Moldova’s ex-president slams current leaders’ call for NATO membership as dangerous (TASS).

Update #3: The Duran's analysis on what is happening in Moldova (see video below) concurs with what I am hearing from WNU readers and a friend that I know in Moldova.

My mother's caregiver is from Moldova, and she is horrified with what the Moldovan government is doing. And she voted for Moldovan President Maya Sandu in the last election that she now deeply regrets.

Looks like Russia is stoking up tensions by removing that independence decree relating to Transnistria and Moldova. They knew exactly what they were doing.

No wonder the President is alarmed.

WNU's comment is anecdotal. The anecdote might be, because the employee does not want to be fired.

The borders of Moldova are based on the use of force by the Soviet Union and subsequent Soviet administrative borders. Moldova leaving the Soviet Union/Russia was agreed to in the 1990s.

Russia could use the treaty reached under duress excuse. The Chinese like that one. Maybe Russia could give back the left bank of the Amur river to China?

Has Russia gone to the UN over the plight of the Russian kleptos in Transnistria?

OMG the picture of the embedded Youtube video. That looks like Miss R2P herself.

What is that premature aging case doing in Moldova? Her skin and hair look 20 years older than her chronological age. Is her brain any different? Horrid to behold!

Samantha Power is partly responsible for Obama's Smart Power approach that broke Libya into 3 pieces and contributed to slavery, the European migration crisis and the troubles in Mali.

The women is a complete witch. Neither she nor her family will never have skin in the game such as boots on the ground.

Power , rice and nuland are a triple neocon tag team
We're ever they go. Trouble and death follows

There the Russian pooftah goes again with his neocon bullshit. Since when is R2P part of conservatism? When has Samantha Power ever called herself conservative?

In the past the original neocons were hawkish Democrats, who left the Democrat Party Plantation and became conservative or more conservative. When did Samantha Power leave the plantation? The DNC has slave catchers you know.

Russian catamites are the best!

A true humanitarian. Just like Dorian.

Power, rice, frum, Kristol, Clinton and more. All part of the neocon legion and that holds no loyalty to any party.
R2P. Hmmmmmm? Was that Kosovo or Libya? Yes both yes both.
How well did that work in Libya anyway?

Wait? Was that not one of the reasons the Russians invaded Ukraine? Yes, yes by golly it was. I guess after killing 14000 people in donbass something had to be done.

Where are you from smiley? Not a very good place I guess. You lack of concern for you fellow man is rather sickening.

Alexander Mercouris, whose hour long vlogs WNU Editor now regularly links to, is the Editor-in-Chief of the Duran. Mercouris is a disbarred British attorney of Greek descent. After being disbarred for swindling a client and other ethical violations, he moved to Cyprus and became involved with the Duran, a website with links to RT, the Kremlin controlled "news" channel. So Mercouris and the Duran are neither security or foreign policy experts nor have ethical reputations, and they exist solely as a means to disseminate Russian propaganda and disinformation.

Much like the links to the bizarre website Moon of Alabama (which WNU Editor never linked to prior to the war), it shows how degraded WNU Editor's posts on Ukraine has become. He'll stop linking to reputable channels if they stop being negative on Ukraine's chances, and he'll start linking to absolute crap as long as they parrot the Kremlin's line. In terms of helpful analysis, this is complete garbage.

I don't know if Moldova's new government poking the bear at this time is a smart move. But this has been the position of the Moldovan government for several years now, so repeating this now is not a change in any stance. It just repeats the previous policy. This was likely done in response to Putin's cancellation of a 2012 decree on Russian foreign policy that heavily affects Moldova. So this is just more Russian bullying.

Perhaps with whatever plots he knows the Russians are doing, the Moldovan PM thinks he has nothing to lose. Or perhaps he thinks the Ukraine war has degraded Russian capabilities so much that a little pressure could be the thing needed to move the ball. Or he is positioning Moldova for potential future events. Or this is simply a restatement or prior policy with no further consequences.

"So Mercouris and the Duran are neither security or foreign policy experts"

So a person could walk into a hobby shop, poll the local gamers, and find a subset of people who would do a much better job.

Moon of Alabama is a Check your azimuth and and sight alignment blog. It is where you go to get the other side of a story.

Problem with Moldavia is that is horribly corrupt. The only people who get elected there are US/Euro hacks.. i mean picks.

How do we know? It's called Foreign Assistance programs. Got a nice t shirt for that one.

Btw. This is another example of BH Lidell's indirect approach combined with death by a 1000 paper cuts.

This is the West thru one of their paid off politicians baiting the russians. Just like Kazakhstan last year and this current fight in the Ukraine.
Puppet master pulling strings. Keep you target busy on many levels and fronts. Social, economic , political and diplomatic. Cut down his maneuver space and run him till he cannot breath.

"Problem with Moldavia is that is horribly corrupt."

Yup, what a butt fucker.

Country X is notoriously corrupt is the refrain that we get form all the good Russian trolls as they sing form their hymnal.

After hearing for the millionth time how corrupt Ukraine is, I looked it up and I found it was less corrupt than Russia.

YES

Moldova 105
Russia 135

Moldova is less corrupt than Russia.

I hope the stupid Mr. Nobody uses a condom and lube when butt fucking. Less chance of him contracting HIV, hepatitis and other diseases. Alas his posts are so stupid, I think he has tertiary syphilis.

You are a pathetic slug. How do we know?

You can always recognize a slug. They always leave a trail of slime behind them.

Did the argument of 7:02 have any thing to do with comparison of corrupt nations? . No it was not.

This is the argumentative fallacy of the " false comparison"
But.

Btw thank you for supporting my claim of Moldavian corruption with a score of 105

The claim was that Morldavia was corrupt. You now have supported that fact.

Very nice.
