Ukraine President Zelensky Says He Plans To Meet Chinese President Xi On Proposed Peace Plan

Ukraine President Zelensky

Yahoo News: Zelensky plans to meet with China's Xi on proposed peace plan

On Friday, China’s Foreign Ministry announced a 12-point proposal that called for a resumption of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

LONDON — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday said he planned to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping about China's proposed peace plan, released on the first anniversary of the war.

“China started talking about Ukraine, and I think this is a good thing,” Zelensky said at a news conference one year after Russia’s invasion. “But it actually begs the question, what will these words be followed with? The steps next are important.”

WNU Editor: I will be surprised if this meeting happens. But if it does happen, the Russian offensive that everyone has been talking about for the past two months will be delayed.

Probably just buying time for weapons shipments from the west. Zelensky is not the person to seek peace.

Not going to happen.

Russia has to be prepared to lose Kaliningrad and its Belarussian ally.

Biden is too stupid to guarantee Putin's safety and Putin is too stupid and proud to accept it.

I would have expected Bakhmut to have fallen by now as in 2 or 3 weeks ago. Is Bakhmut a great bleeding exercise? Perhaps. That would assume the Russians are as smart as they were in Ww2. We shall see.

At any rate I expect Bakhmut to be in Russian paws by end of March in the latest and maybe as early as next weekend.

Yeah lol, and Russia ran out of rockets and ammo six months ago. Who’s going to take Kaliningrad, exactly? Belarus will likely be absorbed into Russia proper and once vital energy infrastructure gets knocked out across European seas, you’ll have to face the prospect that NATO just might be Kaput

I am increasingly believing that the "big" Russian offensive we've been expecting is actually what has been happening the past few weeks. This might have been Putin's big shot, and he's blown it. It would explain why the Chinese are putting forward a cease fire plan now. They certainly would not be doing this to prior to Putin's big offensive as they wouldn't want to sandbag him. Far from "delaying" Putin's offensive, I only see the Chinese doing this after a Russian offensive is over.

The available evidence is that Putin wanted to report some success by the anniversary of the war and his big speech. That explains the big push for Bakhmut and Vuhledar. he wanted to say he now has most of the Donbas. But the Russians couldn't grab it in time.

The Russians are not bleeding the Ukrainians at Bakhmut. The Ukrainians are bleeding the Russians. If the Ukrainians were suffering as many losses as WNU Editor likes to claim (several entire armies so far), the Russians would not have essentially made zero gains since April and lost significant territories in Kharkhiv and Kherson.

It'll be interesting to see if the Russians continue with their pace of operations around Bakhmut and other areas in the next few weeks, or if their attacks will culminate. With the weather likely to get much wetter and muddier, I think the window is closing fast.

"The Russians are not bleeding the Ukrainians at Bakhmut. The Ukrainians are bleeding the Russians."

I am not sure. Option 3 would be they are bleeding each other nearly equally.

Given the population difference, some people have said the Ukrainians have to kill 4 or 5 Russians to make it felt or something.

Rule of thumb is that attackers need a 3 to 1 superiority to consider attacking and winning. Some, myself included, have taken this to mean that defenders usually kill 3 attackers for ever offender, who dies. This may be true in the initial stages of an attack. Once attackers break through the ratio might flip. Assuming a person had decent model, they could do a Monte Carlo experiment.

What makes it hard to figure, when not in the loop, is that the Russians have more artillery and more ammo. The Ukrainians use their ammo better. In that case I do not know what 3 to 1 means.

One tell may be Wagner is no longer using the prisoners. But the MoD is. Part of this is an internal power play. But how much was it that Wagner human wave tactics were too expensive? If the tactics were too expensive would it be the MoD intends to use some prisoners but with better tactics?

If the MoD is still intending on using prisoners, then maybe the Russian autumn callup was not very good?

The Russians are hurting. They withdrew 20% of their forces from the Kola peninsula. That puts Murmask and their sub fleet under threat in case of general war.

I don't have any special knowledge on this war. Everything I know is reading from various sources. Some is propaganda, some is wrong and some will turn out to be true. taken as a whole, I would have thought the Ukies would have collapsed by now. But, I think that USA and British real time satellite and spy plane intel being fed to the Ukes is a force multiplier for them. In the open terrain of eastern Ukraine, The Ukies know every Russian move.

I just have to keep watching and see. Ron

It's a year into their invasion and the Russians have managed to overtake 15% of the territory of a hostile on their border. With losses reported at near 100,000, there might be more reasons than Xi's visit that they'll hold off throwing more Russian bodies at Ukraine.

I saw a comment thread like this once before. It was a discussion on Adam Lanza and Sandy Hook at The Blaze. There was a discussion thread that was heated and with more trolls than you could shake a stick at. A new story was posted at 7PM or 8PM on same topic.

The two comment threads were as alike as night and day. The discussion was calm. People had different opinions, but discussion was calm. One to three nurses commented. People engaged a little and the comment thread was pleasant and informative.

Literally at 7 or 8 it was like someone had thrown a switch. it was like people were on the clock. Some people could get tired of trolling and turn on TV and forget trolling for the day. It made me believe that there are people paid to troll by nonprofits or governments in additin to the normal trolling.

If Russia is losing and there are indications they are losing, asylum would be a good choice for Putin.

Is Russia losing? There was suppose to be a winter offensive. Not one city has been captured. There have been a score or so villages captured. For having more air power, more missile forces power, more artillery, more artillery ammo, more tanks and more men, how is it that the winter offensive is a bust?

One answer is that the Russians are attriting the Ukrainians with artillery. Possible. It was part of the strategy t break the Mannerheim Line in the Russian War of Aggression against Finland in 1939.

The Mannerheim Line too less time to overcome. And yes the Finns were assisted by the West. you should tell your fellow Russians about the time "We Russians attacked a small country and beat them despite the West helping them".

It would be cheaper in lives Russian and Ukrainian and less expensive all around to return Putin to Pacific Island than to continue and beat the Russians. There is no question that Biden is stupid. Why do you even ask? Are you Biden-calibre stupid too?

Remember Vietnam?

American military won. Democrat congress pulled out.

Vietnam is still having a hard time coming back form their military defeat. Vietnamese communists stayed stuck on stupid for the longest time and the US got industrious smart people like David Tran

Russia has lost 5 million people since Poo-tin took over. Some of those 5 million came to the Us providing intellectual capital and sweat equity. Meanwhile back in Russia Poo-tin wasted over 100,000 more men. You are in trouble my boy.

both p, parties wanted war in Nam. The public finally said enough of that shit

Nixon successfully Vietnamized the war. Democrat controlled Congress cut funding and air support. No air support and the south Vietnamese collapsed.

Biden cut air support. Afghan army resistance collapsed.

What you my Russian friend want is for congress to cut funding so ukraine collapses.

You are a shit mother fucker.

Lucky for you, Xi is trying peace talks to give Putin and his 'army' breathing room.

And we remember the support you Russians gave the Port Huron communists and to Gus Hall.

Ukraine is surviving and thriving because of wester weapons and tactics and training as well as a highly motivated army. Defense is much easier than offense especially with modern weapons and drones. And because of microchip shortages and sanctions precision munitions are getting hard to come by for the Russians.

Anonymous said...

Barely surviving, but thriving? Your just lapping up that propaganda with a smile, ain’t ya? The population is decimated, industry decimated, military will be non existent as soon as Zelensky abandons 15 thousand troops in Bakhmut and his own people turn on him. Ukraine is not in a good place right now, not by any stretch of the imagination.

"as soon as Zelensky abandons 15 thousand troops in Bakhmut"

Be honest. Posting that got your dick hard.

A general and his staff will make a decision of how many casualties they con inflict on the Russians without getting surrounded. When they think the risk of being surrounded is too high, they will exfil to prepared position at which time your tiny dick will deflate.

Look on the bright side 6:22. When you are let go from you Ministry of Truth job, you can continue your rent boy side hustle in Moscow.
