President Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv on Monday morning on a surprise days before the first anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and declared that Vladimir Putin had failed in his 'war of conquest.'
His visit was shrouded in secrecy. He arrived after the hourslong train journey from Poland with a stripped down press traveling pool of just one reporter and a photographer.
Air raid sirens blared across the besieged Ukrainian capital although there were no reports of Russian missile or air strikes.

WNU Editor: A regular reader of this blog emailed me this morning to tell me that rhetoric and optics aside, President Biden went to Kyiv to meet Ukraine President Zelensky to deliver him some bad news that could only be delivered by a face to face meeting . That bad news is .... make a deal to end the war or you will lose it.
My gut tells me he is right.

Is the timing of this visit important? With Putin set to "maybe" ask for a declaration of war tomorrow and then their congress vote on it the next day makes me wonder why now.
Half Measure Joe. This confirms that Biden is a coward.
Joe and the puppeteers cannot get the easy stuff right, which is the logistics.
What deal? Russia is not interested in a deal.
The only deal Russia wants is to remove the regime and sovereignty of Ukraine.
Maybe, just maybe, an exhausted Russia may be a more willing negotiator.
But you will have more look making a deal with the devil than with Russia.

1) President going to Afghanistan is risky, because the Taliban don't care.
2) President going to Iraq is risky, because the Al Qaeda doesn't care.
3) President going to Ukraine is not so risky, because the Russia does not want a nuclear confrontation

So not so risky. Russia was informed. If the Russians used no missiles or drones near Kyev, one might assume that the air raid sirens activating was staged to make President Oatmeal Brains look good.

It ( the air raid sirens) had to be staged.
That whole airspace is now being monitored so a bird would be detected.
If there was incoming, the USSS would have Joe running for a bunker under their agents human shield.
But do you really think the USSS or DoD would have agreed to this visit unless the Airspace was 110% secure?
No way.
Russia has the upper hand so they are not in a hurry to make any deals.
