Politico: U.S. officials project calm as China stuns world with Iran-Saudi deal
Some U.S. officials argue that American and Chinese interests may align in this case.
The détente China brokered between Iran and Saudi Arabia is spurring breathless talk in some corners of a regional paradigm shift and even the rise of a Beijing-centric world order.
The Biden administration’s reaction, however, amounts to: Nothing to see here, folks.
U.S. officials have issued brief public statements that downplay the initiative. Asked for details in interviews, they argued that, among other things: It’s a one-off case; it was in China’s economic interest to broker the deal; it doesn’t translate into long-term alliances; and anything that helps calm the region is in America’s interest.
That display of nonchalance also suggests that the administration is eager to stave off concerns that China is eroding America’s global influence at a time when the Biden administration seeks solidarity with partners and allies to counter what Secretary of State Antony Blinken calls Beijing’s threat to the “rules-based international order.”

WNU Editor: All that I can say is that if it was the Biden administration that brokered this truce between Iran and Saudi Arabia instead of China, we would be hearing non-stop praise from the main stream media and from US officials themselves on how great this brokered truce is.

Biden and the blob does not want to give credit to the Chinese. Why? Blobo knows that their power is waining and does not want any sign that the Chinese are becoming their equal on the world stage.
Prediction...This is also why the US. (and their tagalongs, the brits) will torpedo any Chinese facilitation of Ukrainian Russian peace talks in the future.

A Chinese brokered peace deal could be a possibility. The USA & GB will try & scupper a deal like Britain did with the Turkish brokered peace deals. The question is how long can Ukraine remain in the fight as the USA's & Britain's proxy army.

I think I like the idea of China becoming the world broker for once. Anyone else but usa. They can bare the costs and become distracted from their own country's problems. In time, China will wear out its welcome much quicker than the USA did.
I have been tired for a long time of USA's lives and treasure being spent trying to keep the worlds ancient hatreds at bay. China can do it.
There will be negative economic consequences for USA, I understand, but if our attention was turned inward, we will overcome.

I have not been in a church in years.
I truly believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, true light from true light. He suffered, died and was buried
and on the third day he rose again. His death freed us from sin and he is the salvation of the world.
I believe in the final judgement of the living and the dead. He shall come again in Glory and Power. No force on this earth can stop it.
There are many others out there , who are the same.
I'm inclined to agree with Ron. Especially after having been a part of one of these "adventures" in which America participated.

Joe goes to church so he can be seen going to church. Saint Peter will not recognize joe, but the devil will.
Going a few times a year to church does not count. That is more pro forma, networking, or showing ther flag than anything else.
Of course, I am sure you interviewed him just the other day. Fro what I have seen from this guy he is serious about his beliefs.
You don't see national leaders saying
"yes they can destroy us. But they too shall be destroyed. And while they are burning in hell, we will go to our deaths as martyrs."
Who would say such a thing? Certainly not Biden, Johnson, Macron or Trudeau. They are basically empty suites when it comes to a belief in God.
