Zero Hedge: China Foresees End Of Ukraine War This Summer: Report
A fascinating new report in Nikkei Asia has unearthed and detailed the findings of an elite Chinese state-linked think tank which reports directly to the People's Liberation Army. Nikkei in the context of examining the timing and motives behind China's 12-point peace plan said that Chinese military experts are predicting the Russia-Ukraine war will end this summer.
To review, the 12-point plan urged implementation of a ceasefire and the resumption of negotiations toward a permanent peaceful settlement, and was unveiled on the one-year Feb.24 anniversary of the war. But the Nikkei report asserts there's specific rationale driving Beijing: "The reason for China's sudden change can be traced back to a report issued two months earlier by a top think tank in Beijing."

Is China becoming the bigger man in the room? Who seen this coming? But Just listen to a handful of Biden speeches and it becomes incredibly obvious
China needs Russia to be a strong-ish military power as an annoyance to the US and EU. If Russia continues to lose 1000 men a day (as is being reported) it will be impossible for Russia be part of that new "strategic alliance" with China that we're all hearing so much about.
My feeling is that China desires a wind-down to this war. China owns enormous land holdings in Ukraine that are currently producing exactly zero for the glorious Xi Long March To Global Dominance.
And right now what China wants, China always gets.

A 1000 a day ie pretty extreme. But I understand. The press reports say this but are they to be trusted in this matter , I would say no. If they say 1000 , I would say 100 at ,most. Why? Ukrainians are short ammo and Men. Except possibly for wagner, there has been no real attempt for a major attack. It has been find the enemy, do light attacks, then fall back and let artillery do the work.
The Chinese look at peace as part of thier opportunity to cement thier position on the world stage. Like Roosovelt in negotiations of peace during the Russo Japanese War, if the Chinese are successful, it would put them in a place of diplomatic equality/prestige/influence to "The old powers" just like it did America at the turn of the last century.
