Reuters: Turkey's foreign minister in Cairo for first time since ties cut a decade ago

CAIRO (Reuters) -Egypt and Turkey took another step towards mending relations on Saturday when Ankara's top diplomat visited Cairo for the first time since ties were ruptured a decade ago and held talks with his Egyptian counterpart.

Relations were severely strained in 2013 after Egypt's then-army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Mursi, an ally of Ankara, but have gradually thawed since 2021.

At a joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said talks with Turkey on the possibility of restoring ties to ambassadorial level would happen at "the appropriate time".

When the Soviets were no longer able to use coercive force to hold cultures/governments under their influence, (1991), then what followed was the natural process of self-organization.

The Europeans divided up the Middle east after WW1 to suit their needs. After WW2 the USA was the main coercive force. these coercions in the region is what created the Muslim brotherhood, ISIS ect.

As a dying empire, (USA), and our inability to buy, (weakened influence of the dollar) or force our will on the middle east, natural spontaneous organization will also occur. Good.

Natural reorganizing

So the Kurds will get a state?

Be careful what you wish for. Saudi Arabia almost conquered Jordan, but the British intervened. You could have a nuclear Israel up against a nuclear Saudi Arabia. That is almost a guaranteed nuclear war, which could go global.

I wish Ron would grow up. coercive. Then explain Aramco.

natural process of self-organization occurs when there is no coercive force changing people's behavior. You know, when they are looking fake it when they are not f@ck it. the Kurds will always have a boot on their throat unless Turkey, syria and Iraq fall into utter chaos and lose the ability to oppress.

as far as growing up, I'm sixty-five, if it hasn't happened now it ain't gonna happen so sorry.

6:51 Ron is correct.
Telling him to grow up? Invalid statement.

Growing up is not a meter of chronological years. It is from a series of events that test or
mold you.

Warren Buffet said he would not give his kids an inheritance since it would infantilize them. One of his children is a a farmer in the Corn Belt. The son may have gotten seed money. But the son also know if his performance is piss poor and his business fails , his father may not bail him out.

"His father purchased the property for $760,000 and charged him rent."
