Mexican President Obrador Pushes Back Against US Proposals To Use The US Military Against The Cartels

Washington Post: Mexico’s president rebukes GOP push to use U.S. military against cartels

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador pushed back Thursday against Republican lawmakers who have urged the Biden administration to take military action against the country’s drug cartels across the border after the abduction of four Americans in the border city of Matamoros. He said such demands threatened Mexican sovereignty.

“We are not going to allow any foreign government to intervene and much less foreign armed forces to intervene in our territory,” López Obrador said at a news conference, adding that he would ask Americans of Mexican and Hispanic origin not to vote for Republicans if their “aggression” continued.

López Obrador also sought to deflect attention from Mexico’s role in the fentanyl epidemic. He claimed his country does not produce the substance, which is responsible for the majority of U.S. drug overdose deaths, and cast its abuse as an American problem. U.S. law enforcement officials have said fentanyl is mass-produced by Mexican drug cartels and then distributed by American criminal networks.

CTC has a few papers on how terrorist groups and criminal syndicates work together.

https://ctc.westpoint.edu

The Haqqani network is one such syndicate.

"They also receive funds from extortion, kidnappings and smuggling operations throughout eastern Afghanistan. In an interview a former Haqqani commander called the extortion "the most important source of funding for the Haqqanis."According to a tribal elder in Paktia, "Haqqani's people ask for money from contractors working on road construction. They are asking money or goods from shopkeepers... District elders and contractors are paying money to Afghan workers, but sometimes half of the money will go to Haqqani's people."

If a drug cartel or the Mafia have substantial dealing with a terrorist organization, they are fair game.

"According to U.S. officials, Lebanese Hizb Allah has already secured a highly lucrative source of financing by helping to launder cocaine profits for groups such as the Los Zetas through a range of Shi`a-owned businesses in West Africa."

Looks like the Zetas cooperate with terror group.

Next thing you'll be telling us they found "prayer mats" at the border.

I am not a crackpot.

But since April 2022, when U.S. Customs and Border Protection began publishing the monthly number of border crossers who were on the FBI's terrorism watch list,

Texas Sheriff Claims ‘Quran Books’ Found At Mexican Border May Mean ISIS Infiltration - Stink Progress

Of course liberal Gawd Damn MFers denied the Qurans vehemently. They would rather get blown up by an IED than admit they were wrong.

It really wouldn't be that heavy of a lift. A squad of 8 Reaper Drones with Hellfires, thermobarics, flying Ginsu's. Hitting every cartel warehouse, drughouse, flophouse, safehouse and outhouse from Juarez to Laredo.

Problem solved by Mother's Day.

Ive said this for years. The only solution for Mexico is to annex it.

Stupid, dumb A-hole Democrats release people on terror watch lists into Detroit

"As I recently reported, a Lebanese Venezuelan migrant who swam the Rio Grande from Matamoros to Brownsville, Texas, in early December 2021 was on the FBI terror watch list. Amid the border chaos that month, the FBI still managed to interview him, according to internal documents. Agents recommended ICE keep him locked up until deportation due to "substantive high side derogatory intelligence," labeling him a "high risk" and a "flight risk." But instead, ICE headquarters ordered the man released for fear that, due to his weight, he might catch COVID-19. He was free and pursuing an asylum claim in Detroit last I checked."

Why "not"?

RussInSoCal said...

I'll ask the question again, Why "not"? Why "not" blow away some critical cartel infrastructure with some 3am drone strikes. It worked on ISIS. And it wouldn't be anything close to the US Ukraine outlay - where the US is apparently now funding Ukrainian pension plans to: "Defend Democracy!!". And where any urban 7th grader couldn't locate on a map.

The Biden gov't has decided that its interests in Ukraine are important to the tune of $120 Billion. With no act of congress or for that matter much debate at all. All you "Anonymous" trolls with your little one line zingers need to step up your game. Bring a cogent argument. Defend your opinion or kindly shut your halfwit gobs when adults are speaking. Read and learn something.

Why not? Because the Feds are making money and it’s mostly straight white right leaning youth who are the victims of Mexico sourced drugs. It serves the left wing agenda. If you want a legit solution to the dystopia that we are in, buy Rosetta Stone and learn the language of the people and culture who actually have a future on planet earth. Russia

Your first sentence is very cynical and unfortunately probably accurate. If that is the case - and by its behavior, the Fed Gov is probably up to its neck in the flow of fentanyl into the US for those exact reasons - it should be removed by means necessary.

But I don't agree that the learning the Russian language and throwing the future of western civilization into the arms of Russia is the solution to "dystopia".
