New Report Says Number Of Global Usable Nuclear Warheads Increased In 2022

DW: Number of usable nuclear warheads increased in 2022 — report

The world's stockpile of usable nuclear warheads increased by over 130 in 2022, Norwegian People's Aid has reported. The authors have warned of the risk that nuclear weapons pose to humanity.

The number of nuclear warheads that states could deploy reached a total of 9,576 at the beginning of 2023, up from 9,440 the previous year, according to a report published by the NGO Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) on Wednesday.

The Nuclear Weapons Ban Monitor report said that the weaponized nuclear power amounted to a "collective destructive power of more than 135,000 Hiroshima bombs."

The issue of nuclear weapons has become its most prominent since the end of the Cold War thanks in part to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and subsequent aggressive rhetoric, as well as fears over Iran's nuclear program and North Korea's renewed missile tests.

Like I said about 3 week ago.

Out of those 4, 400 warheads all you need is 30 hits on the US and it is a crippled, semi functioning country. that will probably recover in about 100 years , if it ever does.

Russia only takes 29 hits and it ceases to be a functioning dicktatorship

Oh wait, Russia is already started ceasing to function. They pulled out of Armenia, Syria, Georgia and the Kola Peninsula.

Ramzan Kadyrov is worried about insurrection at home. Something about a police station being attacked in Gudermes. After 2 wars and Russia is about to lose Chechnya all over again.

Two Rosgvardia commanders were recently accused of corruption. Russian National Guard naval department head, Colonel Sergey Volkov, was arrested on March 29 for purchase of low-quality and at the same time overpriced radar systems (Orel-UAV complexes - ed.). Deputy Commander of Rosgvardia's Central District, Major General Vadim Dragomiretsky, was detained on March 20.

That's right hero. the Russians won't be any better off. That's why we say some of you want nuclear war/

You are insane.

Consider nuclear war as payback for all Russia has done to the West for over 100 years.

I have lived east of missile field until grade school. Since grade school I have lived within 10 miles of of two known nuclear targets. You crack under the pressure or you don't GF.

You are like Putin. You want your bark to do your work. Pretty well toothless you are.

Good stay there, when the hit DC , maybe you too can man up and set the example for your nuke war viewpoints.

China's warhead count is way above 410. Until China allows independent counting we must assume they are on a course to equal or exceed US counts over the next few years.
