Washington Post: Ukraine short of skilled troops and munitions as losses, pessimism grow

DNIPROPETROVSK REGION, Ukraine — The quality of Ukraine’s military force, once considered a substantial advantage over Russia, has been degraded by a year of casualties that have taken many of the most experienced fighters off the battlefield, leading some Ukrainian officials to question Kyiv’s readiness to mount a much-anticipated spring offensive.

U.S. and European officials have estimated that as many as 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or wounded since the start of Russia’s invasion early last year, compared with about 200,000 on the Russian side, which has a much larger military and roughly triple the population from which to draw conscripts.

Ukraine keeps its running casualty numbers secret, even from its staunchest Western supporters. Statistics aside, an influx of inexperienced draftees, brought in to plug the losses, has changed the profile of the Ukrainian force, which is also suffering from basic shortages of ammunition, including artillery shells and mortar bombs, according to military personnel in the field.

"As the war continues the financial burden on NATO nations becomes more of a problem for local politicians. Russian Information War efforts keep pressing this angle because in the long run it works. This means planting a lot of false media reports that justify reducing financial support for Ukraine. Some Western media accepts the Russian disinformation without checking to see if it is valid."

If it is WaPo, it is a CIA planted story. What has changed?

The Biden Admin must be getting tired of all its continuing losses, sending Joe out to read some disinformation on the teleprompter and have him scurry away from reporters, either stumbling or fumbling with a door knob and such.

How many news conferences does Biden have for the war versus how many total?
If not that war, then something else. Something always comes up. He would go to the G7 or G20 conference and lose his way.

If not for the Ukraine War, then the Yemeni War would be hotter.

If not for the Ukraine War, then Washington Post would be goading him to go after MBS.

If not for the Ukraine War, there would be more attention in the southern border making Jim Eagle 2.0 look bad.

Common denominator here is Jim eagle 2.0.

The ukies have almost hit thier culminating point. Units are filled with half baked draftees with very little to no experience. Experienced leadership is dead or non existent in front line units.

The tier 1 units being formed are sucking up all the experienced cadre that are left and leaving
"big army" to fend for itself. Low on ammo and equipment the AFU is in a hurt locker. There is talk of another "big ukie offensive" but with what?
New US and EU equipment is not sufficient. And what about the guys in contact right now.? Are they supposed to wait around for this magical offensive to arrive?

It looks rather bleak out there. The Russians? They still have all the advantages here. Material, manpower and an untouched infrastructure from which to operate from.
