This certainly will undermine any peace initiative China is doing and will make them wanting to be seen as a peace broker a hard pill to swallow.

China wants to replace USA's geopolitical role in the world. Why the baby steps. rifles and body armor? really? we give first class arty, missiles, tank killers and world class real time intel with a promise of world class tanks and fighters. If China wants to upstage us in the world arena, they will have to up their game.

These are receipts for private civilian resale. Take the greatly larger number of body armor and rifles that China exported to the USA this year and you can see that this is a nothingburger. Just Politico paying it's weekly agitprop tithe to the intel agencies.

Wouldn’t it be far simpler for China to ship these small goods by train? The story of customs receipts from Turkey and the UAE sounds and smells like something that came out of a bull.
