Reuters: Ukraine stages raids across Dnipro River as counteroffensive looms
KYIV (Reuters) - Ukrainian forces based on the western side of the River Dnipro are frequently carrying out raids on the eastern bank near the city of Kherson to try to dislodge Russian troops, a regional official said on Tuesday.
Russian forces have held the eastern side of the Dnipro near Kherson since retreating from the southern city in November after months of occupation, but Ukraine is expected to launch a spring counteroffensive to try to recapture more territory.
Yuriy Sobolevskiy, deputy head of the Kherson regional administration, said the raids were intended to reduce the combat capability of Russian troops who have been shelling Kherson city since being forced to retreat.

Even Russian war commentators are saying this is an ominous development for Russia.
I am not sure that this is the great Ukrainian push that many have been predicting. That terrain is marshland divided by 3 rivers. The only way that Ukrainian vehicles can move in this region is on the roads that are easily exposed to Russian fire. In fact. Russia has started using their 500lb glide bombs, and specifically in this region (see tweet below).
The Ukrainian landings across the Dnieper river in Kherson were apparently met with a pair of UMPK, the winged FAB bombs.

the only way to stop those glide bombs is to have enough combat aircraft like F-16s to use long range air to air missiles to shoot down the Russian bstrds.
To date Joe Biden, the Manchurian Candidate, who took Russian and Chinese money, refuses to send the F-16s.
It is damning of the Washington political establishment to not want Trump, but then also not to move against the very flawed person, who is Joe Biden. The war won't wait 2 years until they get their new and improved (honest) candidate to turn things around. for that alone Milley and Austin should face a court martial.
You do not tell people to keep fighting and then give them only three quarters of what they need.
They're just fucking with the Russians. Saw a video last night of a group of Russian soldiers in the exact spot from the video above. The Ukrainians had left almost as soon as they arrived. Then, a few hours later, they do it again somewhere else. It's an easy way to occupy a lot of Russian resources with just a handful of brave guys in a couple of dinghies. Plus it gets used as a PR win, "retaking" territory.
But an amphibious offensive landing? No way. Not happening.
