DW: How prepared is Taiwan for a potential Chinese attack?
Leaked US documents have cast doubt on Taiwan's air defense capability against potential attacks. Experts, however, say the island has some robust defense systems.
Taiwan's air defense capabilities have come into focus in recent weeks, after the Washington Post reported that Taiwan would struggle to handle aerial offensive operations from China, citing classified documents leaked by a 21-year-old American man who was a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
The report, which was published in April, claimed that Taiwanese officials doubt their air defense can "accurately detect missile launches" from China and that not enough of Taiwan's military aircraft are "fully mission capable."
The report also highlighted that Taiwan's fighter jets could become targets of Chinese missile attacks as it requires at least "a week" to move them to shelters.

The only way they will Ever be ready to stop a Chicom attack, involves two separate scenarios:
1. They buy five 10 megaton H bombs salted with cobalt. Then they use thier entire army to guard and protect theses bombs.
They announce to the world that If they are invaded by any country, that they will commit national suicide and way waste to the entire island.
The island will be uninhabitable for generations.
Or
2. The get Captain Kirk and the Starship Enterprise to defend them.
The Chinese hate everyone and everything that isn’t Chinese. I don’t know how or why Russia became the worlds boogeyman when it is China that we should be looking under our beds for.
Taiwan been preparing for China their whole life. If you go to their shores they are always ready.
You can be ready. You can be trained. But if you get hit by overwhelming firepower, it does not matter. Example St Lo and Operation Cobra.
That is just one example out of hundreds recorded in history. Mogadishu would be another one. The only thing that really saved us there was to AC 130s and helo gunships. Otherwise we would have never made it out. Like I said...hundreds of examples.
But I wish those guys the best. Being on the Bar Lev line or waiting in a trench at the Somme .........
And who is ready then? China?
