During the show, he began a skit about how he had adopted two stray dogs since moving to Shanghai.

He went on to say that their chase after a squirrel one day reminded him of eight words, before he unleashed the controversial punchline, according to audio posted to Chinese social media site Weibo.

“Fine style of work, capable of winning battles,” he said, flipping a well known Chinese Communist Party slogan referring to the PLA.

The phrase was first uttered in 2013 by Chinese leader Xi Jinping, who also chairs the military, when he set out a list of qualities he commanded from the nation’s army. It has since been repeated at various official occasions and in state media.

Whether you agree with it or not, some things in some cultures are still sacred.
Guess he learned the hard way.

But in America you can say the Son of God was a homo and that's ok. Because you believe God is a homo too. And you think gender is a perception and that history is all up to interpretation.

Could not do that here in 1952. Why? Because some things were still sacred back then

The key sentence is the artile is ""The company and actor Li Haoshi wantonly tampered with the preapproved content of the performance," the notice said."

The PREAPPROVED content....

So even stand up comedy must be approved in advance by the CCP?

What a sad and scary place China must be.

lol talk about a straw man.
Pretty sure one could make fun of the military in the US in any time period.

There are a lot of key sentences but yeah. And how about those fines? For a fucking dog/army joke.
It wasn't even comparing the army to dogs, but his dogs to the army, so intense was their dedication to squirrel chasing or whatever
