US officials have proposed telephone calls, meetings and dialogue, but China has repeatedly rebuffed them, a US vice defense secretary said
Open communication channels between the US and China are important in maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Affairs Ely Ratner said on Thursday.
Ratner made the remark at an event held by the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies to discuss the US’ role in Indo-Pacific security.

Chinese look at us like the Russians look at us. Insincere and arrogant. The only thing the US does is preach at them about "progressive values" and try to hem them in.
So why talk to those freaks?
Remember, it is not they do not want to talk. You can be sure they would talk to a reasonable individual.
But when you points of contact are members of the BLOB: Milley, Blinken, Austin, Shumer of Uncle Joe and their cloned irrational "best and brightest" minions.
