Ukraine President Zelensky Signs Decree On Celebrating Europe Day Instead Of Victory Day On May 9

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy delivers a speech at the United24 summit in Kyiv on May 5. He later declared May 8 a day "of a united Europe, the basis of which should be and will be peace."

RFE: Zelenskiy Declares May 9 'Europe Day' Ahead Of Russia's World War II Anniversary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced that he has submitted a bill to parliament officially marking May 9 as "Europe Day" in Ukraine, while Victory Day, May 8, would be celebrated as a "day of remembrance and victory over Nazism."

Russia celebrates World War II Victory Day on May 9. Ukraine, a former Soviet republic, has commemorated the Allied victory in World War II both on May 8 and May 9 since 2015.

On May 8, when Ukraine celebrates Victory Day along with most European nations, Zelenskiy said in a video statement that Russian forces would be defeated in his country just like Nazi Germany was beaten in World War II.

More ethnic cleansing. And what’s up with Estonia? If that isn’t a pro Nazi move, then what is it? Man things are getting strange real fast

what 3:12pm said -- weird move indeed

But then I actually read why: They don't want Russian flags at the moment.. and loud/aggressive music. Give there's a war going on, and given the fact that yes Nazis were bad, but by death count Communist regimes (soviet union) were much worse - just that Hitler's crimes were filmed, while Mao and Stalin and all these communist bastards got away killing many more of their own and neighboring people

SO yeah... all for celebrating anti nazi stuff, but maybe the russian flag should not be held high - yes I understand the difference between the USSR and today's Russia. It just so happens that today's Russia seems to carry on the proud tradition of war crimes, while Germany has stopped this shit a long, long time ago and doesn't have some flag swining vodka drinking BS

So to celebrate the defeat of the Nazis is to celebrate the ushering in of Soviet era.. That makes sense I guess. But todays Russia is not yesterday’s Soviet Union, not by a long shot. And if Europe doesn’t start to realize that a partnership and cooperation with the east is a much better deal than embracing the woke virus being ushered in from the west, then they will be doomed. 🧟‍♀️ 🧟‍♂️ 🧟 🇊🇚 💀 ðŸŠĶ

Jeez. according to Skoda and all the historical narratives he gives about the "Russians" attacking the US or helping the enemies of the US in the past, you would think that the Soviet Union never existed.

If there is a serious risk that a large percentage of their own population would wave Russian flags tomorrow then perhaps the Ukrainian people aren't as gung-ho about this whole thing as we've been lead to believe.
