New York Times: ‘It’s Time’: Ukraine’s Top Commander Says Counteroffensive Is Imminent

Ukraine’s top military commander signaled on Saturday morning that the nation’s forces were ready to launch their long-anticipated counteroffensive following months of preparations, including recently stepped-up attacks on logistical targets as well as feints and disinformation intended to keep Russian forces on edge.

“It’s time to get back what’s ours,” Ukraine’s supreme military commander, Gen. Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, wrote in a statement. The blunt statement, accompanied by a slickly produced video of Ukrainian troops preparing for battle and released on social media, appeared intended to rally a nation weary from 15 months of war and to deepen anxiety within the Russian ranks.

But General Zaluzhnyi offered no indication of where and when Ukrainian forces might try to break Russia’s hold on occupied territory. Other senior Ukrainian officials also suggested that the counteroffensive was imminent.

WNU Editor: I am not optimistic on this counteroffensive. The men and equipment that have been mobilized for this counteroffensive are less in numbers than what was used in the defense of Bakhmut, a battle that Ukraine lost.

This is going to be interesting. Unless the ukies have a trick or two up their sleeve this will be exceedingly ugly for them.
Why this analysis. Because without any creative/new way to get thru the obstacle belt it will be a nightmare. As I stated before, a couple of moabs would do. But without somthing like that, it will be another WW1 type battle.

This will probably be the last ukie Ardennes offensive.

The posibities of victory are slim just using conventional tactics and wepons.

But as a famous soldier once said...
if you have a chance of victory, you must fight! Sun Tzu said that...🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣

Ukrainian general to his wife "The counter offensive is imminent. We're attacking Macho Grande from the west at 6am a week Tuesday with 36,000 men in 3 divisions, with artillery, 6 tank regiments & service support units."
Wife "When will you be back?"
Ukie "I can't tell you thst. It's top secret."
Hopefully the Rooskies won't find out about the imminent offensive & "it will be a big suprise. Keep ducking 🤭

Bakhmut was lost?

1) It took Russia 9 or 10 months to get the city.

2) Russia is already losing the flanks around Bakhmut.

3) Russia was focused on one city. When they cannot focus on one city, supply and logistics to support broad stretches of line will be problematic for the MoD.

4) The Rusdsian fleet is bottled up. The Ivan Khurs was not protecting a piepline. an destroyer or patrol boat can do that. It was spying on shipping traffic coming out of Istanbul. Now that task is problematic. If the kamikaze boats had come before or right before dawn, they might have succeeded.

5) Russian warbirds are falling like flies. Double digits in percentages of strength are gone.

6) Russia is recruiting Cubans to fight. Just how sucky is socialism, if you are willing to sign up for fighting in WW1 style trenches while assaulted by 21st century drones? Something is wrong with Russian recruiting, if the is a Cuban recruitment pipeline.

We are told Russia has so many more people than Ukraine that of course they will win. So the Cuban recruitment drive begs the question. Why is it needed?

7) the Ukrainians seem to be taking back the flanks faster and with fewer casualties than Wagner.

Here is an earnest question. Are there so many criminals in Russia prisons, because there are so many "corporate psychopaths" (TM) in the upper echelons of Russian society? There is an official psychological checklist for that sort of analysis

You are going to get some level of crime no matter what you do. But I believe you get more, if the head is rotten. That works for the US as well as Russia.

Yes the Russians have lost. They should surrender now. The Ukrainians and thier faithful allies of the Romulan empire will prevail.

Good Lord the crap is thick today.

Copy and paste that post and come back in 14 days and tell us how much was true.

Yes Fortress Bakhmut is unassailable and will destroy the Russian army. And that is why Wagner eradicated most of the Ukrainian units fighting there.
Did you get your news from a gumball machine or the old standby of the magic 8 ball?

Supposedly ukie army.

Captain kills colonel for trying to send his company on suicide mission.

There is so much crap out there. This may be true or more trash.

Can any one confirm?
