President Joe Biden taunted Russia while speaking with reporters Sunday at the G-7 summit in Japan. The big decision which has been a main talking point at the meeting was the White House telling European allies that the US will allow them to export F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine if they desire.
This has led to questions over whether this escalation in policy could bring NATO and Russia into direct clash. Here's how a particular exchange went as the G7 wrapped up:

The Kremlin/Russia see the U.S. as the principle driver of the war in Ukraine right now. That is why they see this deployment of F-16s being done only because the U.S. green-lighted it.
So yes. This is a colossal risk for Russia, but also for NATO and more specifically,the U.S..

We are now at the time where it is critical for all parties to de-escalate. But it looks like no one has a reverse gear. Its escalation all the way.
I am old enough to have experienced what living under the shadow of the Cold War was like. The real threat of nuclear war was always there.
But this is different now, and even more dangerous. We are definitely in uncharted territory, and I see no exit ramp to stop this war from spreading.

the Russians failed in WW2. they let cons out of prison. The cons performed a valuable service. After the war, the Russians put the cons right back in prison. They were not rehabilitated or reintegrated.

Prisoners have a recidivism rate. For some crimes it is as high as 86%. Authorities could look at the rates and determine who to let out into society. As there are jobs in the defense industry going begging they could hire on there making tanks. Every so often they could be reminded without smugness whether they like a livable wage or prison.
For some prisoners like people with multiple murders you could send to Siberia into in a prison but as a penal colony. they stray off the reservation, you shoot them. It is a harsh environment but they would have some measure of freedom. You also pay them for work. I see Russia as failing these convicts. I am not saying that the US is not failing theirs. That is a another topic. Similar but another topic.
There were fights after WW2 in Russian prisons between the convicts, who volunteered to fight and those that refused. My motto is if you are going to let them out one day, you might as well treat them decent or suffer the consequences.
I have read there was a connection between the Russian Mafia and Soviet officials. A component of the failure of the USSR?
Did it also factor into the criminal privatisation of Soviet industries in 1991?

F16 has a delicate landing gear, requires dedicated air fields with well maintained runways along with high technical maintenance.
Unlike the SUs and Migs that could take off from rough roads and fields the F16 will be very limited in where it can operate from making it an easy target while on the ground.
