Ukraine Is Asking Germany For More Leopard 2 Tanks

Ukrayinska Pravda: Ukraine asks Germany for more Leopard 2 tanks

Considering the first losses during the counteroffensive, Andrii Melnyk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, is asking for more German-made tanks.

Details: Against the background of the loss of the first tanks delivered by the Western allies to participate in the hostilities in Ukraine, Kyiv is once again calling for increased support, in particular from Germany.

"The Ukrainian army desperately needs many more Western battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and other armoured vehicles," Melnyk said.

"Each Leopard 2 is literally worth its weight in gold for a decisive offensive," added the former ambassador of Ukraine in Berlin. In his opinion, the Bundeswehr is capable of providing more than the 18 already delivered pieces from its stockpile of more than 300. The current number could be "tripled without jeopardising Germany's ability to defend itself".

Melnyk also asked to hand over "another 60 Marder infantry fighting vehicles" to the Ukrainian army.

This is no surprise, when your strategy is to launch a conventional attack on a defense in depth with no element of surprise or innovations.

High diddle, diddle, straight up the middle.

If you're trying to beg for weapons from Germany for the love of god send anybody but Melnyk. The guy was booted out of Germany for seriously damaging the German/Ukraine relation and, among other things, genocide denial on national TV. It's seriously time to clean up Zelensky's inner circle.

When there is a line from end to end, you do go straight up the middle.

Once you punch through there is plenty of flank.

Fun Fact: The Germans actually punched through the Maginot line and took it. By that time the Czechoslovakian Panzer were already on the Channel coastline so it was icing on the cake.

Russia is so screwed until the kick the dwarf clown from power. Some of you all will have real let downs as there will be no more pictures of Vlad with his shirt off.

Exactly, and breaching a defensive line will cost any army considerable loses with or without air support.
Unless knowing how incompetent Russia has been to date A wasn't expecting Ukraine too take a hit.

You all seem pretty confident when there is no evidence to support what you say. The ukies are not the Germans.
And the Russians, right now, seems to be very competent in conducting a solid defence. Or maybe it is the incompetence of the other side that makes them look good?

Be that as it may, we will see this week. The ukies need to break that line. If they don't all will be for not, especially all those poor souls who died in bukhumt sacrificed to preserve the tier 1 forces.

A MOAB or 3 is needed.

Btw. The Ukrainians should have had more tanks than this before they started. Big mistake.
That was their mistake and that of the west

Against a regular defence you need 3 to one. Against a fortified line , indepth...No arty or air power figure 7 or10 to 1.

Agreed, Of Prague.

Pretty amateur[sp] use of equipment that's not falling out of the sky these days.
If America's military is assisting them....time to retire boys.
