Ukraine's Government Facing Growing Dissent And Opposition

Kyiv Post: 'Someone Craves Capital Control' Klitschko Rages Against Government Pressure

Kyiv's mayor pushed back against outside pressure on the the city's authorities amidst the follow-up investigations into the fatalities outside a locked bomb shelter.

Kyiv’s Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, unleashed a fiery political statement on June 21, decrying the mounting external pressure on him and the city's administration. He specifically complained about, what he called, disruptive anti-corruption and law enforcement searches impeding the organization’s work.

"Today, a relentless campaign seeks to tarnish the Kyiv authorities and my own reputation. Never-ending searches paralyze city departments and services, wreaking havoc on the capital's management, especially during these trying times,"

Klitschko asserted in a punchy video statement on Telegram. "They hinder the smooth operation of critical infrastructure enterprises, slinging accusations at city service leaders and loudly proclaiming their alleged guilt," he added.

WNU Editor: Western and Russian media outlets have been focused for the past 24 hours on the Wagner Group rebellion, and justifiably so. But there is also a lot of dissension and opposition within the Ukraine government and its institutions on what is happening. Kyiv’s Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, is only voicing in the above video what many Ukrainian political leaders and officials now fear is Zelensky's push for even more power and control.

And while there are no Ukrainian military convoys making their way to Kyiv to demand change in the same manner that the Wagner Group has tried to do with Moscow, I am now reading from Ukrainian military bloggers that I trust daily reports of rebellion within the Ukrainian army itself when it comes to following orders in launching attacks against Russian fortifications. I am also reading a lot of reports of resentment on the Ukrainian front lines that Kyiv is out of touch on what is happening.

In an environment where the press and information is tightly controlled by Kyiv, I can only imagine on what news is not coming out due to censorship and other restrictions.

Klitschko was directly involved in the maidan coup. He was around long before Zelensky and is not only much more well-connected inside the country, but also outside of it. Namely, Klitschko is one of the main face-men for US/western interests in the country. If he is having problems that he can't solve himself then they must be coming from the nationalists/Budanov circle. If so, that would signal the beginnings of a split between the nationalists who lead the maidan coup and the western sponsors that fund everything. It's an interesting development that isn't getting enough attention.
