WNU Editor: The Military Summary channel has a lot of updates on the Russian offensive in northeast Ukraine. Ditto from the Weeb Union, THETI Mapping, and Defense Politics Asia
Bottom line.
If Ukraine's defenses in the northeast of the country are as week as many Russian and Ukrainian bloggers are claiming, and if the Russian advances in the northeast of the country are accurate, Ukraine's counteroffensive in the southern part of the country will probably come to an end.

Watch this situation closely.
It can develop in multiple ways.
a. Russians break thru?? Then what is their exploration plan?
b. Will Ukrainians now be forced to commit their western equipped/trained reserves?
C. Is this the main attack? Or an attempt to have the Ukrainians commit reserves in the North and then launch another attack to the south towards Odessa?
D. Forces come in from Belarus?
We will see.
Big questions: How far will Russians go? What will be Ukrainian tactical/operational/ strategic response? What will the West do now?
The Americans will have had contingency plans for this kind of thing. This is part of what a "futures" cell is for in the J3/G3/S3 shop.
a good open source piece from India. nice to have third world eyes look at something. they can see what we cannot sometimes because of political or cultural blind spots.
