Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin is feared dead after a plane – with his name on the passenger list - crashed in Russia tonight, two months after his failed coup attempt against Putin.
Video footage purportedly shows the aircraft falling out of the sky in the Bologovsky district in the Tver region.
A burning wreckage, which appears to be of a plane, was later seen in a field, with unconfirmed images showing it completely ablaze.
It was initially unknown if Wagner chief Prigozhin - known as Putin's chef and with longstanding links to the Kremlin dictator - was on board, but it has since been reported that the passenger list included his name.

WNU Editor: Witnesses are saying they heard a loud bank (explosion?) before they saw the jet "fall from the sky". That tells me there was an explosion (bomb?).
There has been no official confirmation that he was onboard.
A lot of people want Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin dead. Ukrainian, Russian, etc. .... the list of his enemies is long. I know in the Kremlin they are not going to cry over his death (if he is dead).

Yeah lets DNA/tooth check this a bit, I'm not sure if this is not a fake death.. again, the perfect cover for wagner soldiers to operate near/in Polish space would be to be "exiled" to their next door neighbour :D
And I still don't buy that he would be so stupid to run on the Kremlin. Like being a mercenary is one thing, having a standing army 10x as large and 10x more weapons is something else.
But maybe I misread the situation, maybe he really thought the rest of the population and army would side with him. Either he had a middleman who lied to him, or there are some who actually expressed their resistance to him directly. Who knows.
My guess is there are some fractions who want Putin gone/replaced and even a different system. But I still don't buy he is so stupid to then fly a jet. In Russian airspace. Or anywhere near it... It's like 101.

If he's dead, it's a certainty it was Putin who ordered a hit.
What's not a certainty, is if he was on the plane; as this could have been a perfect opportunity for him to disappear. The problem with the fake death theory is that there's very little reason to do it, and don't say 'fear of Ukrainian hitmen' to put forward a theory as to why.

Dmitri Utkin is also supposed to have been on the plane, and he is the man who is the actual military leader of Wagner. There is some initial data that suggests this was shot down, and not a case of engine failure. I think it is clear everyone assumes Putin is behind this. The only surprise is that it took Putin so long to do so instead of killing him during the mutiny.
Combined with the official removal of Surovikin, it seems Putin is now serious about purging the military of any possible dissent. It'll be interesting whether we'll see additional purges in the coming weeks.
While in the short term this will strengthen Putin's rule, in the long term this simply reinforces the idea that Putin will always break his promises, and that no deal made with him will ever be respected.

I think that’s the record for accidentally falling out a window.
If it was shot down with a missile that’s pretty sloppy and obviously traceable back to the originating launch platform.
Much more likely that a bomb was placed on board.
This guy did great things for Russia but blew it at the end when he decided to do a coup and take down several Russian chippers.
