A theme that keeps dominating certain corners of media commentary is the idea that the U.S. armed forces have become “woke.”
In today's vocabulary, this implies that the American military has been overtaken by ideological imperatives that push a far-left political agenda.
Allegedly, U.S. enlisted personnel and officers are being subjected to compulsory exercises in groupthink that devalue the American historical experience, spread contempt for traditional American values and diminish the appeal of military service in favor of other alternatives.

Look, we are living through 5th generational warfare, which includes cultural diffusion, confusion of language, inversion of meaning etc. Just explain this to your close ones.

The US military is woke and will be proven to be a joke. Never mind it not being my grandfathers Army, it ain’t my army 20 years ago.
I recognize my opinion is purely anecdotal but as a former infantryman with combat experience, here are my thoughts:
Combat arms before the actual combat--and aside from the training--was extremely rough and full of hazing. Significant energy turned inwards at rooting out weakness in a way that may not be ideal, but is nevertheless effective in its own way. Anyone being special, unique, sensitive, or even demanding reasonable treatment or consideration for who they are as an individual could not fit in that system. When it was time for combat, I understand there had been some value of regrettable things like the hazing and terrible treatment we'd received.
No one knows how a "woke" military will perform on the field of battle. It's never been tried. But I for one wouldn't want to be the first one to gamble on its effectiveness as a fighting force.
