CNN: Libya dismisses foreign minister after meeting with Israeli counterpart
Abu Dhabi and Jerusalem (CNN)Libya's internationally recognized government dismissed Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush after she met her Israeli counterpart in Rome last week.
Israel's foreign ministry announced on Sunday night that the meeting had taken place.
The Libyan foreign ministry rejected reports that the meeting was officially sanctioned and said in a statement that it was "informal," "unprepared" and "did not include negotiations or consultations."
It added that Mangoush "reaffirmed Libya's principles towards the Palestinian cause in a clear and unambiguous manner."

Tell me again, why did Obama kill Gadaffi after the Us reached an agreement with him?
"The 2001 September 11 attacks in the United States were denounced by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.[9] Following the U.S. military response in the War in Afghanistan, Gaddafi increasingly sought to normalize relations with the United States, initially focusing on the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Libya. At the time of Libya's nuclear disarmament, its nuclear program was in the very initial stages of development.[2] The Director-General of the IAEA Mohamed ElBaradei stated to the media that it was his "gut feeling" that Libya was three to seven years from successfully building a nuclear weapon.[2]"

Libya's decision was praised by many in the West but criticized by many in the Arab world.[6] In 2004, Paula DeSutter, the-then United States Assistant Secretary of State for Verification and Compliance stated that “we want to have lessons learned from [Libya's disarmament] because we want Libya to be a model for other countries.”[6] Some prominent politicians and diplomats hoped that Iran, North Korea, and Syria would decide to follow the Libyan model of disarmament

In a further sign of warming ties, U.S. President George W. Bush called Libyan leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi on Monday to voice satisfaction at a U.S.-Libya deal to compensate victims of terrorism, the White House said.

Ambassador Robert Joseph, the leader of the U.S. side of the secret negotiations in 2003 that led to Libya giving up its nuclear program, said he called Gaddafi’s demise “overdue.”
“It needed to occur, this is a man that has the blood of hundreds of Americans on his hands and he has met justice. The fact that it came from his own people, I think is true justice,” he said.

Now why did Israel release details of the secret meeting, knowing it will likely get the Libyan official, Najla Mangoush, executed?
