Moscow On Fire

Express: Another devastating explosion rocks Moscow as huge inferno erupts at warehouse

Odintsovo, an industrial city in the Moscow Oblast, has been the target of drone strikes in recent weeks. Back in May, a fire at a paper warehouse killed three.

A massive fire has broken out in Russia, with video showing warehouses ablaze.

Social media reports say it broke out near a toll road in the western industrial zone of Odintsovo, near Moscow.

Preliminary information holds that warehouses are on fire, but the cause of the fire is unknown.

But it comes just a week after Russia said it shot down two Ukrainian drones in the Odintsovo and Naro-Fominsk districts.

Maybe the 99% of the Russian populace who support this war of aggression (percentages that I'm sure the WNU Author vouches for based on his 'friends & family in Russia') would see their support wane when its brought home to them.

Certainly not the coffins and funerals of Russian soldiers that's doing it considering how much of that is downplayed.

T-80s and T-90s were not being produced due to the lack of optics and/or fire control systems.

The factory that may be burning was built to address the issue. It was built adjacent to an ammo plant.

From a managerial point of view I understand that if you already have an ammo plant and you get a contract for optics, you want everything adjacent. It makes "management by walking around" easier instead of getting on the ring road and spending time driving.

But it is an ammo plant!

Ammo is expensive. It is not like you are putting the new optics plant next to a factory producing low tech inexpensive crap.

But it is an ammo plant!

And optics is even more expensive.

Was the ammo plant running around the clock with deferred maintenance and machinery wearing out. Good possibility. Hard to say.

Did Ukrainian or American intel know what the plant was producing and prioritized hitting it? Maybe.

I think the in-clique managers should not have expanded to the building next door, because it was easier.

I will also note that a Siberian tank storage facility is now half empty of T-62s and T-72s. I bet when they pulled tanks to refurbish they picked the ones in better condition. For example ones with turrets. Looks like Russia is scraping the bottom of the barrel on tanks.
