Al Jazeera: Taliban marks two years since return to power in Afghanistan

August 15 has been declared a national holiday to celebrate the Taliban government, which is still not recognised by any country.

The Afghan Taliban is marking the second anniversary of its return to power with a public holiday, celebrating the takeover of Kabul and the establishment of what it described as security across the country under an “Islamic system”.

“On the second anniversary of the conquest of Kabul, we would like to congratulate the mujahid [holy warrior] nation of Afghanistan and ask them to thank Almighty Allah for this great victory,” the spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a statement on Tuesday.

You know, it is pathetic, and sad, really sad.

Here it is, these half civilized, barbaric, stone age heathens destroy the opium trade after one year using sticks.

But the most powerful country in the world with:

super computers, jet air craft, lasers, microwaves, helicopters , sprayer trucks, satellite imagery, full airborne surveillance capability,
the "Best and Brightest" educated leadership,
and supported by the most technological advanced and supposedly smartest Diplomatic Corps and Military the world has ever known ....

Cannot eradicate the opium trade after 20 years.

Think about that.

What is the hell is going on here?

And Remember, it is scary to think about.....

this is the same group of people leading and controlling the effort in the Ukraine.

We are screwed.
