Leaked documents show that Moscow is progressing toward its goal of mass-producing UAVs it could use to pummel Ukrainian cities

Try and keep up. A subsidiary of Kalashnikov who produce the Lancet series of drones is building a new factory that is opening soon, with annual production target of 200,000 Lancet drones per year.

Russia is building about, I dunno. at least 20 types of drones now, maybe more. The Geran design is about the most primitive of the lot, Russia added a few basic upgrades to the Iranian design. The new Geran3 could be a good one, 2,500 km range and bigger warhead. Gerans are used in conjunction with other drones, and missiles of various types, to overwhelm air defenses.

Total Russian production of drones will probably be in the millions by next year. 6,000 drones could be 1 day of useage.

Iran gets their drone edge from captured American drones. They don't need to spend much on R&D, just wait till the US sends a new drone over, down it, and within a few weeks Iran, Russia and China have some new tech for their drones. Very cost-effective.
