RFE: Ukraine Orders Evacuations Near Kupyansk Amid Russian Shelling; Drone Attack Reported In Pskov
Ukrainian authorities ordered the mandatory evacuation of residents near the frontline city of Kupyansk in eastern Ukraine as Russian shelling continued to take a civilian toll in the region and as U.S. leaders announced a new tranche of military assistance to aid Kyiv in its fight against the invasion.
Meanwhile, officials in Russia in the early hours of August 30 said a drone attack in the northwestern city of Pskov had forced the closure of the local airport, Russian media reported. Details remained unclear, but authorities said the drone attack was repelled with no injures but that four military planes were damaged.
The past 24 hours marked another bloody day in the war, with deadly attacks reported on civilian areas and heavy fighting reported in the east and south of Ukraine.

WNU editor: The Western media focus is on Ukraine's counteroffensive in the south,. But Russia's counteroffensive in north-east Ukraine continues to progress, and these evacuations orders from Kyiv do not surprise me.

I know this part of Ukraine. The vast majority of these people have always identified themselves as Russians or as Russians living in the territory of Ukraine.

"Vast majority" means something.
When the Yugoslav Partisan politician Milovan Djilas complained about rapes in Yugoslavia, Joseph Stalin reportedly stated that he should "understand it if a soldier who has crossed thousands of kilometres through blood and fire and death has fun with a woman or takes some trifle"

The Americans probably had more rapes than reported just because law enforcement never can catch everything.
But seriously would an American soldier consider raping a Holocaust survivor like a russianwould?
I will also add that the American had more rapes then reported because a lot of the brass did not care to have it reported. Still the Soviet/Russian record is 10x to 100X worse.
a bit of history: American soldiers in Japan after the war ended were given access to whore houses that we had the Japanese govt set up. No need to rape when you could simply pay.
I am sure there had to be some rapes by Am soldiers has they entered Italy, Germany, etc in the closing months of the war. A solder punished for this, if caught and punished, would perhaps have some form of punishment but I doubt our govt has special records kept for such crimes and punishments. At least they were not making that public. In a memoir written after Viet Nam one soldier casually notes raping a young girl when they entered a village and then shooting her dead. Was this real? I assume so. Rape has a long history of being used by an invading army to intimidate the citizens of
towns and villages they were seizing.
