U.S. Air Force Holds Mass Casualty Exercises And Evacuations In The Event Of A War Against China

SCMP: US Air Force holds China war drill rehearsing evacuation of thousands from Pacific

* US and six allies, including Australia and Japan, hold simulation of aeromedical operations under 'limited bandwidth and internet connectivity'

* During two-week drill, forces use C-130 Hercules cargo plane to move patients and test deployment of modular medical teams

The US Air Force practised evacuating thousands of casualties from the Pacific in a drill last month seen as a direct response to the threat of a conflict with China.

The two-week drill, dubbed Mobility Guardian 23, took place last month "across the Indo-Pacific" and involved medical personnel from the US and six allies including Australia and Japan, according to the Air Mobility Command, a branch of the US Air Force that manages medical and evacuation units.

Same here, wnu, same here.
Interesting position both sides are in, and it could be that the US is actually in a stronger position.

Yes, of course, a remote war is much harder to support and typically is won by the local party, BUT...

1. US is almost energy independent, if they turn on some of the fracking again, they are a net producer

2. US economy is not export dependent, Chinese is a lot

3. US economy is also less dependent than the Chinese economy, with rare exception for pharmaceuticals. It is correct to say, that stopping trade with war would be a significant impact on the World, especially Europe, BUT much less for the US. In fact, it seems as if the US talked a game of "dependency" publicly over the last 10 years, while silently becoming less and less dependent

4. Global trade is currently enabled by the protection of the US blue-water fleet. The Chinese almost have none and certainly not the global reach. In the event of a war, it would be naive for the Chinese to assume that the Europeans - and especially the Americans - would continue protecting the Chinese oil tankers LOL

5. AI has been part of US military since 1991 or so, see the DART project (in which MLM was used to optimize logistics issues, being so efficient it paid off within 3 days during the Iraq war/buildup). The US is also the current leader (at least in the private sector but in all likelihood also in the defence and other more public controlled sectors). And again, the chips make the difference, most of that knowledge is Western owned, still AND, many of the industries in China were managed and created by Westerns -- especially American -- Biden stopped this and actually continued Trump's anti-China stance -- with one pen-stroke, these highly skilled top-management and top-engineering consultants had to either give up their US citizenship or continue working with China. 99.8% left China. Most of Chinese high-tech industry is suffering from huge and sudden braind-drain, with no easy replacement.

6. Demographics - worse in China than US

7. Innovation potential - worse in China than US

8. Marshalling power / coordination power: Much better in China theoretically, but currently it is much worse -- why? Xi has executed over the last 10 years his own party members.. he is more isolated than Trump. The Chinese are less and less confident in their actions, as no one can run them by Xi anymore.

9. Partners - China has very few still and no cultural attraction. Look at immigration - almost no one, except people from SE-Asia (Vietnam, Laos) and Russia are migrating to China. Look at student-exchanges: 150k go to US every year (from China) and about 10-15 go to China (from US).. sure - knowledge flows and continues to flow, but not critical knowledge. Any my point here is that the global population in itself is not attracted or convinced by the Chinese model - critical in a world war scenario, where you need ports and support in as many countries as you can get. Realistically it will be 20-30 nations vs 170-180 nations (discounting ofc abstinences, if you were to force the issue, it would be less than 10% of nations supporting China)

10. Importance of nations and their technological and military readiness: NATO vs China, no match. NATO vs Russia: No match. NATO vs China+PLUS+Russia: tighter, but still no match, as population wise and gdp wise they are outmatched

11. Geography..US has almost the perfect place - surrounded by water and friendly neigbhbours north and east

I don't know.. my money is on the US. You will have a coalition of free people of all races, religions and creeds fighting for freedom, while many Chinese want freedom too and are ruled by a monoistic Han culture, i.e. 100-150million Han vs 1billion other Chinese who are being subjugated. Who will they side with eventually? Think they forgot being welded into their homes during Covid and starving to death?

Nah.

3:12, Good list. I have read supporting information on many of your points. Still.............. One thing can even out the score card. Wokism. Look at Hawaii. When faced with a true nightmarish disaster, which required quick decisive decisions to save lives a property, the man in charge of water delayed the release for completely hairbrained ideas detached for reality and responsibility and a town in Hawaii dies. You know the current admin has been supplanting American administrative and military leaders with holy unqualified people who embrace some alternate universe. I hope I do not find out.

The world has a lot of stupidism these days. The Russians had a really sweet deal going, lots of money going in and none going out. Attacking the Uks? more stupid, Nazi's really? Common, more in Germany and the US than in Ukraine. Chinese economy is almost dead. The electronics are all moving out. Vietnam, India, Malay, Singapore etc. More stupid because of one man. Maybe the born agains are right, the devil is doing all this.

Interesting something big coming to what looks like Taiwan

Ron??
yes a huge batch of things went wrong. However, they did not attempt to overthrow an American election by storming the Capitol, urged on by the liar former president who still insists he won the election. He is either a liar or deranged. I assume both for him.
