US Will Conduct A Nationwide Test Of The Emergency Alert System For All Cellphones On October 4

USA Today: Massive emergency alert test will sound alarms on US cellphones, TVs and radios in October

“This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, covering the United States from 14:20 to 14:50 hours ET. This is only a test. No action is required by the public."

Here's what to know:

WNU Editor: The test will be conducted between 14:20 EST - 14:50 EST.

I grew up with AM stations occasionally
blaring the old Emergency Broadcast
System tests. One scary moment was
in 1995. The radio alert noise sounded
and then said, “This is not a test….”
Although it was merely an announcement
that Hurricane Erin was coming, the hair
on the back of my neck stood up as if
nuclear was had started.

Was out in hell fire nowhere Oklahoma about 40 years ago. That same warning came across the radio. THIS IS NOT A TEST. I lived on the east coast at the time

This test failed on some mobile networks in the uk and they didn't re-test. I was one that didn't get a message. Fear mongering I suspect, while everyone questions why
