The most secure location in the White House, and maybe the world, just got a full makeover.
In 1961, after the Bay of Pigs invasion, President John F. Kennedy requested a secure facility to feed intelligence information directly into the White House. That room was up and running a year later when Kennedy huddled with advisors, gathering as much information as possible as a surprise battery of Soviet missiles were placed in Cuba.
In 2003, it’s where George W. Bush gave the fateful order to begin the Iraq War. And in 2011, Barack Obama sat transfixed, surrounded by Cabinet officials and military commanders, watching in real time as Navy Seals executed a risky and dangerous secret plan to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

I remember Obama... the guy with most legal and other attacks on the press in recorded history. but they loved him, showered him with love. now turns out he was a crack-smoking gay/bi dude, who lectured us all on our morals, while putting whistle blowers into prison and hunting Snowden and Assange. nice dude. good memories. oh and remember how he droned a 16year old US kid because he wrote a blog he didn't like? Niiiice.

if trump had 'upgraded' the situation room, there would have been no shortage of criticisms having mainly to do with unnecessary costs (but also the various styles/colors/materials). Not to mention the outrage that would have occurred if he had donated the 'old' situation room to, i dunno, the geo bush library.
