The constant agitation and grievance mongering threatens the the stability and survival of all the Middle Eastern governments except Iran, Hamas's sugar daddy.
These governments used to deny Palestinians citizenship to stoke the fire and get at Israel. Now these same governments are afraid of what they created. No one in their right mind wants Palestinians.
I) If Palestinians did not create all of the conditions for the Lebanese civil war, they at least lit the fuse.
IIIV) Palestinians also tried to overthrow the government of Jordan.
The Saudi reporter had permission or was ordered to question Hamas thus.
The only people that want Hamas to agitate and war in such a manner are Iran, Hezbollah and Russia.

Is it stressful? Yes, people are talking of global war.
Is it awkward? Yes, it is awkward everytime mumbles through a speech of goes off point. It is awkward when visiting dignitaries has to pretend the emperor has clothes.

I saw a video of the takeover of the IDF base by Hamas. About 15 Israeli soldiers in civilian clothes were cowering unarmed in a restroom while taking Hamas small arm fire. A single Israeli soldier was armed and in uniform, but he seemed to be cowering right along with the unarmed soldiers, peaking out the door.
The scene leads me to wonder at the degree of readiness of the Israeli army. Aren't there armed men awake at all hours on watch? Were the Israeli sentries asleep? Or were they not in place because of the holiday? How could Hamas fighters approach undetected and enter the base in such force? Aren't IDF military bases fortified?
