The mercenary group Redut, which operates under the control of Russia’s Defense Ministry, has started recruiting women for combat roles in the “Borz” volunteer battalion for deployment to Ukraine, according to journalists at iStories.
Redut posted its announcement on the social network Vkontakte, offering a starting monthly salary of 222,000 rubles ($2,355). Candidates without firearm skills are being offered a month-long boot camp in Donetsk.
Redut says compensation for battlefield injuries ranges from 1 to 3 million rubles (roughly $21,000), while death benefits reach 5 million rubles (about $53,000). Mercenaries who complete their contracts are granted the status of combat veterans.

Russia 'forcing' central Asian migrants to join army
Russia has been attempting to detain and force people in central Asian migrant communities to register for military service, according to a US-based thinktank.
The country's top criminal investigative authority has been scrutinising minor crimes committed by migrants with a view to bolster its numbers on the frontline, said the Institute for the Study of War, citing an insider source.
The Russian Investigative Committee has been reopening criminal cases into migrants with Russian citizenship for the same purpose as well as investigating their families, said the ISW.
The source claimed authorities had ordered Russian state media to increase the number of reports about crimes committed by migrants to create an atmosphere that enables them to carry out "mobilisation raids" of migrants with Russia citizenship, the ISW reported.
It said Russian internal affairs minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev met with the ministry's board members to discuss "migration problems" and "ethnic crime", insinuating that migrants commit crimes at a higher rate than people born in Russian.
These women in combat will be facing tough duty. They will sit in a trench or a ruined house with their FPV gear. At any time their opponents using their FPV gear or artillery will hit you. Almost guaranteed death. Some people survive bullet wounds. Not so much drones and artillery.
