U.S. President Biden Says He Has ‘No Confidence’ In Palestinian Death Toll From The Gaza Health Ministry

Reuters: Biden says he has 'no confidence' in Palestinian death count

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday he has "no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using" for the death toll in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, where the health ministry says over 6,500 have been killed in Israeli attacks.

Biden was asked at a White House press conference whether the death count, which the ministry says includes some 2,700 children, meant Israel was ignoring U.S. appeals to reduce civilian deaths in its bombardment of the coastal enclave.

"What they say to me is I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed. I'm sure innocents have been killed, and it’s the price of waging a war," Biden said.

WNU Editor: It is bad enough that the Israeli government and the Hamas leadership have no empathy in killing civilians on the other side. But I expect more from the US President.

As to what is my take on the casualty rates being reported from the Gaza Health Ministry. I mentioned in a previous post that in the current carnage and mayhem that is now happening in Gaza it is impossible to really know how many have been killed. But when you look at the intensity of Israel's bombing campaign, the casualty numbers are in the thousands.

To put this all into perspective. From Antiwar.com .... In just the first six days of its onslaught, Israeli forces dropped 6,000 bombs on Gaza, one of the most densely populated places on earth. In comparison, the US dropped 7,423 bombs on Afghanistan in 2019, the most since the US started keeping a tally in 2006. (link here).

Hamas and Hezbollah have enormous missile stockpiles that can turn Israel into rubble. Iran keeps improving those stockpiles and demands they attack israel. Iran will soon have nukes.
Time is against Israels survival as a nation.
They believe “Never again”. Dont underestimate their determination to survive. Hamas has to go regardless of civilian deaths, just like all prior wars of survival.

When the Soviets entered Berlin and started leveling city block after city block they had a right to.

They had not initially entered berlin and leveled everything. They entered a built up urban area and their tank crews were wiped out by Panzerfausts. The casualties were horrendous. So they did what they had to do.

You could argue that the soviets could have sent infantry ahead to make it safe for the tanks to advance. But then if there were well set up machine gun nests, the infantry would have bene slaughtered.

The way the Soviets fought in Berlin was more moral than what the Americans did at Royan.

But can WNU tell the difference?

WNU either knows what he is doing as an information warfare specialist or he is a Zinner. Too bad we cannot vote on it.

The same president who claimed, on camera, that he personally saw the images of 40 beheaded babies. Joe isn't ready for the talk about "confidence".

Wnu, both sides don't mind killing each other, key difference is that Israel warned and told the Arabs to evacuate while Hamas didn't.

Bottom line. there is no justification for this in any level of international law and the laws of land warfare, they are all war criminals. by their own actions they have reaped their own illegitimacy

2:25 wants to convince us that striking back is illegitimate. For you sake I hope your uniforn is spiffy.

nope, if Palestine won't give up the hostages and they wont evacuate to safe grounds, their death is their choice. really, I would go live in a tent and toil for food and water every day instead of waiting for a building to collapse on me.
