Washington Post: Myanmar rebels claim major offensive, which analysts say threatens junta
SINGAPORE — Rebel groups in Myanmar say they have scored a series of battlefield victories against the ruling junta, mounting what security analysts believe is the biggest threat to the military’s grip over the country since ousting a civilian government and seizing control in a 2021 coup.
The surprise offensive, which started in the north, has displaced tens of thousands of people along Myanmar’s border with China, according to the United Nations. The campaign has disrupted businesses along the border, irking Beijing and straining the military’s relationship with one of its few remaining allies.

China could be playing both sides.
Burma breaks apart, there is world wide conflict, and the UN ceases to exit (IT already has except as a sinecure for washed up socialists) and a China takes a province.
If or when it does, it will seriously cause those in Washington to consider a merger, shotgun or otherwise, with Canada and Mexico.
Mexico should already be part of the US since the Us is Mexico's economy (remittances) plus trade and a huge percentage of Mexicans live in the US. If there are more living in the US than your own country, it means you cannot provide services for them, so why the fuck you ruling? Of course when the Us did it would mean 1/3rd r more of the senators in the US senate would Hispanic. I am okay with that. The corruption not so much. But the Biden years and the Derp State has showed us that maybe the US is not less corrupt than Mexico. so that is not a reason to avoid a merger.
China take the Shan state or part of it. Shan state has a large Chinese-ish ethnic component. Surely the Chinese can find an old map somewhere.
# It gets them closer to the Indian Ocean (like Russia, but that did not end well).
# It further protects their underbelly.
# It helps or starts to outflank regional competitors, Vietnam and India.
Once the Uighurs are stamped out, the prison system will need new fodder. Plus those Chinese-ish rebels will feel like the DPR and LHR. Pawns.
3 of the 4 purple triangles are on the border. Distance from the capital is usually a factor in any rebellion.
It is the Burma/Chinese border. Assuming the Chinese have control of their border, they know what is going-on on the other side.
So I ask you. Playing both sides?
Burma should not ask the Us for help. other than a foto shoot for a virtue preen, the US does not have the resources or the desire.
burma certainly cannot come up with the financial inducement. Although the Bidens have been bought fairly cheaply, so never say never.
Who is funding the "rebel groups"? Dollars to doughnuts says it is the United States Central Intelligence Agency.
Go Fuck your self Russian piece of shit. The CIA is not behind everything. There are other actors in the world with agency.
If you are not Russian but Chinese, you are still a piece of shit.
Business is really bad there, there is already a lack of food, external hands above the country's nationalism
