Thousands of people are newly displaced, with some crossing into China, as fighting intensifies between Myanmar's junta and ethnic rebel groups in areas near the border.

Myanmar is already bankrupt, the state, let's be honest, a completely Buddhist country, some hidden LGBT aspects and atheism, in this we have a country with some resources without much exports and ports, The worst that can happen will happen due to a state without multipolar agreements.

Where does religion have anything to do with the state? The elite are using religion if anything. They do not believe in it.

Burma is a mainly Buddhist country and how did that affect how the junta operated?

My question is, who is arming the "alliance of ethnic rebel groups across the neighboring north-eastern Shan state" who is fighting the Myanmar troops?

My guess is the CIA. The CIA has a long track record of bringing death and destruction to nations overseas.

The US is the death-head of the world. War is just death and misery. But too the USA, it is business as usual.

This is a low intensity "war" against partisans, from what I see they don't have any gear to talk about. If someone is helping them it has to be one of the poorest countries out there.
