There Are Currently 40,000 U.S. Ground Troops In The Middle East

Axios: Where U.S. troops are stationed in the Middle East

With the Israel-Hamas war escalating, the United States risks becoming involved in a larger conflict that could entangle some of the more than 40,000 U.S. military personnel based across the region.

Why it matters: U.S. troops and military contractors in Iraq and Syria have been targeted in over a dozen attacks by Iranian-backed militia groups since Hamas' surprise attack against Israeli civilians and soldiers on Oct. 7.

 * Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has warned of the "prospect of a significant escalation of attacks on our troops and our people throughout the region."

 * Between the lines: The attacks, as well as a wider war, could reverse efforts in recent years to reduce the U.S. presence in the Middle East as part of a strategic pivot to toward the Pacific.

Where’s the idiot from the other day talking about Putins “lust for war”? Take a look at that map and give yourself a hefty smack across your dumb idiot face. ✋

Troll alert at 2:17.

The troops in Bahrain are there to monitor the Persian gulf and make sure the sea lanes are open.

Oman are trainers.

Troops in Saudi Arabia are mostly trainers or the heavy tail to support Patriot batteries. Would not need to be there except Russia's ally, the Houthis, are trying to bomb the shit out of Saudi Arabia.

Troops in Turkey are at Incirlik Airbase. AKA hostages to Erdogan

Kuwait well ask the people and government of Kuwait. As long as the troops are there Kuwait will not end up like Armenia.

2:17. I am making no apologies. Go Fuck yourself!

Those emojis do not sell your argument. They do not make your smarter or more endearing. They make you a bigger shithead.

To monitor and keep sea lanes open. With what exactly? The threat of military force, that’s what. And how many of those troops are drone operators and support personnel for them? Fracking Gumbah. If it were Russian troops occupying those bases for the reasons you just mentioned, would that be ok with you? Probably facking not. Once again, the lefty loonie double standard strikes again 💥

Actually, since you are a paid government troll and you get paid for these things, I stated several months ago or longer that I supported Wagner in Mali.

Two reasons
1) The French (civilians at the top) were not going to see the job through. Macron complained and wanted to leave and stated as much.

2) The elite would charge their troops at the drop of a hat for war crimes.

If the French are anything like the Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq, the battalion commanders and other up and down the line would rather have meet and greets and share a meal with the tribal or clan elders and work things out. It is how the US won in Anbar. Meet & greets. Services. Plus, Al Qaeda were complete thugs.

What I saw was the America administration trying to get garbage collection up ASAP. They wanted to turn a factory which produced 8 inch guns into something that would support the local economy. Contracts for material handling equipment and other contracts were for locals to bid on.

Macron could not handle Mali or he did not want to.

If Macron was not going to suppress the jihadism someone has to.

I did not complain when the Russians helped out with Somali piracy.

So dude, check your privilege.
