FOX News: Blinken push for humanitarian pauses in Israeli war falls flat with Netanyahu

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says humanitarian pauses would also allow aid to get into Gaza amid Israel-Hamas war

The White House is pushing for multiple pauses in Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza so that aid can be let in, and people can be allowed to safely leave the region.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Friday that discussions about such pauses could facilitate getting hostages released. Israel on Friday put the latest number of hostages held by Hamas at 241.

The thing to note is that the same day these two notions were made public, Hamas issued a statement saying they were intent on doing what they had done again and again.

The O'Bidin admin's approach to the Gaza conflict is necessarily contradictory. This is because they have to appeal to 2 different consituencies if they want to win 2024 without cheating (yeah right lol). If they take an actively anti-israel approach (which is doubtless what they'd like to do), they're toast at the polls. On the other hand, if they go too far in accomodating Israel, they'll lose the young lib retards now protesting god-knows-what. So they have to appear both "pro-israel" AND pro-gaza at the same time. Hard to do with a straight face, but politicians in general, and Dems in particular, are pretty good at favoring both sides of a divisive issue. Israel, of course, should ignore them as much as possible, and continue their efforts to eradicate hamas.

You do not pause in a conflict.

McCain paused his presidential campaign and he lost. Presidential race is a political conflict, but it is still a conflict.

During WW2 bombings never ceased until V day.
