'U.S. assets, to include the USS LABOON (DDG 58) and F/A-18 Super Hornets from the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, shot down twelve one-way attack drones, three anti-ship ballistic missiles, and two land attack cruise missiles in the Southern Red Sea that were fired by the Houthis over a 10 hour period which began at approximately 6:30 a.m. (Sanaa time) on December 26,' Centcom said on X.

WNU Editor: It must have cost a fortune to shoot down these cheap drones and missiles. I am sure the bean-counters in the Pentagon are bringing this point up.

They don't care about the cost.
They make MONEY off you paying taxes for this shit show.
Why did the military FAIL at implementing cheaper drone counter measures, while everyone but the lady at the cashier knows about drones for 10+ years
They fail because they get rewarded for failure
F-18’s have 20mm canons.
Destroyers have AESA electronic attack transmitters. Not necessarily expensive missiles being used in all drone shoot downs.
A lot cheaper than hitting a destroyer . It's also costing iran , and ballistic anti ship and cruise missiles ain't exactly cheap
Also the slow drone problem is new-ish
Or an ordnance-carrying vessel
get an old freighter equip it with a host of 40mm and phalanx type radar controlled aa guns and. make some cheap missiles to arm it with. Then use another freighter loaded with EM jamming equipment and the problem is fixed.
You do not need a super duper party pooper frigate or destroyer to handle this problem.
low cost fix for a low cost problem
Houthi heroes continue to strike where they please.
Victory and glory to the heroes of resistance.
And hit nothing lol
