B-1 bomber flights began in 1985. Not sure how old this one is but they've been run into the ground with Gulf Wars One and Two, Bosnia, GWOT ops around the world, etc. The plane is getting "long in the tooth" and has been worked hard. Maybe a replacement is needed, not like the B-21, but something simple, low tech but similar capabilities as the B-1.

Yet the B-52 just keeps flying and flying and flying......... :)

Yep, instead of buying b21s and b2s they should just of built brand new B52s

Because they're so stealthy

Maybe not. but that stealth tech is slowly dying with the advent of new detection systems.

and a B52 is a hell of a lot cheaper. Put a hypersonic in the bomb bay and you have a significant fix for your bomber problem.
