Politico: In a second Trump or Biden term, who’d be the next defense chief?
Washington insiders are already speculating about who could replace Lloyd Austin when and if he decides to leave.
The presidential election is still 10 months away, but that hasn’t stopped water cooler speculation about who might lead the Pentagon in a potential second term for President Joe Biden or Donald Trump.
Biden made history when he announced that he would tap retired Gen. Lloyd Austin as the first Black defense secretary, a pick POLITICO first reported in December 2020.
If he wins a second term, Biden may want to break another barrier: putting a woman atop the Pentagon for the first time.

WNU Editor: I doubt that the current US Defense Secretary, retired Gen. Lloyd Austin, will serve in a second Biden term. As to who will replace him .... your guess is as good as mine.
As for who will be the US Defense Secretary in a second Trump term. My money is on Christopher Miller. Christopher Miller was recently interviewed on the Shawn Ryan show, and his views on what will be the future of warfare is a must see (see video below).

I would hope for Douglas MacGregor if Trump is somehow allowed to win. They already have a working relationship from when MacGregor came in the end of his term and he never backstabbed Trump, which should be Trump's main concern the second time around.
