Russia's International Army Games Will Still Be Taking Place Next Month

Daily Mail: China sends troops and tanks to Russia to take part in International Army Games event amid heightened tensions over Putin's Ukraine invasion 

* People's Liberation Army is sending personnel, tanks and military vehicles 

* The team is heading to Zabaikalsk to compete in the 'War Olympics' 

* Other countries expected to participate include Iran, India and Kazakhstan 

China will be sending troops and tanks to Russia next month to take part in the International Army Games despite global condemnation at Putin's atrocities in Ukraine. 

The People's Liberation Army is sending the delegation to Moscow, with personnel, tanks and military vehicles recently leaving Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia, China. The team is heading to Zabaikalsk in Russia's Far East, China's state broadcaster announced yesterday.

WNU Editor: 37 nations will be present at Russia’s largest multinational military exercise between August 13 and August 27. The event is being held across 12 countries, including Russia, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, according to SCMP.

Russia’s annual Army Games is back and bigger than ever. The games, which pit the armed forces of (largely totalitarian) countries against one another in staged military exercises, are in their fifth year. Thirty countries are taking part in the games, which for the first time are taking place in locations outside of Russia including Iran, India, and China.

This year’s games pack more than 30 competitions, including the popular tank biathalon, a sniper competition, Aviadarts fighter and helicopter games, bridgelaying exercises, and even a field kitchen exercise that involves baking bread. The games typically feature some fairly realistic competitions, where soldiers, sailors, and airmen are graded on their ability to skillfully complete tasks in a set amount of time.
