Islamic State Group Attacks Israeli Position In The Golan Heights

Times of Israel: IDF strikes IS target in Syria, day after killing 4 IS-affiliated terrorists following clash

Military says it took out compound used as base for attack on IDF troops Sunday by members of Khalid ibn al-Walid Army in Golan Heights

The Israeli Air Force struck a military target belonging to the Islamic State terror group on the Syrian side of the southern Golan Heights overnight Sunday-Monday, the military said in a statement Monday morning.

The raid came after an Israeli airstrike killed four members of an Islamic State-affiliated terrorist group in southern Syria on Sunday morning, following a clash near the border. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the exchange, the army said.

The Only Country That The Islamic State Fears In The Middle East Is Israel

Washington Times: Israel is the only army ISIS fears, says western journalist allowed into caliphate

Jürgen Todenhöfer was allowed into the territory of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, and spent 10 days among the terrorists. The German reporter said ISIS told him Israel is not included in the ISIS first stage of colonization of the Middle East and that ISIS does not fear U.K. or U.S. soldiers but sees IDF soldiers as a “real threat” to the Islamic State.

“The only country ISIS fears is Israel — they told me they know the Israeli army is too strong for them. They think they can defeat U.S. and U.K. ground troops, who they say they have no experience in city guerrilla or terrorist strategies. But they know the Israelis are very tough as far as fighting against guerrillas and terrorists,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

Islamic State In Jesus's Hometown?

Shira Rubin, Daily Beast: ISIS of Nazareth: Terror Group Arrives in Jesus’s Hometown

The radicalization of Jews and Muslims is squeezing Christians out of the Holy Land—and ISIS’s reported arrival in the biblical city is just the latest sign.

NAZARETH, Israel — At the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, on the site where it is believed the Angel Gabriel told the Virgin Mary she would carry the next messiah, Jesus Christ, both Christian and Muslim residents of the city are reflecting on recent news that the so-called Islamic State has come into their midst.

This month, the Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic intelligence agency, announced the arrest of five Nazareth residents who, it said, had declared their allegiance to ISIS. They had been training with arms, meeting covertly, and preparing for a jihad on “infidels,” the agency said.

Over the past few years, 40 Arab Israelis, often from marginalized communities, reportedly have crossed the border in order to join the fight in Syria and Iraq.

WNU Editor: As bad as it is today in the Middle East for Christians, one cannot help but feel that  it is going to get worse.

The Islamic State Vows To Kill Every Jew In The World

Jerusalem Post: WATCH: Hebrew speaking-ISIS jihadi threatens Israel, Jews worldwide in new video

* ISIS trying to hijack Palestinian jihad as its own
* Jewish man who lunged for soldier’s gun shouted ‘I am ISIS’

Islamic State media voices its support of the wave of Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israel.

The islamic fundamentalist organization known as Islamic State released a video Friday, showing one of its jihadi militants threatening to attack Israelis in Hebrew, promising that "soon there will not be one Jew left in Jerusalem."

ISIS's Syrian branch posted the clip to Youtube, depicting a masked terrorist, dressed in military fatigues and holding a rifle, speaking Hebrew with an Arabic accent, while making ominous threats against the Jewish State.

"We will enter al-Aksa mosque as conquerors, using our cars as bombs to strike the Jewish ramparts," the ISIS militant said.

Islamic States Continues To Fail In Gaining A Foothold On The Syria - Israel Border

IBTimes: ISIS Approaches Israel: Islamic State Loyalists Thwarted By Syrian Rebels Along Golan Heights Border

Islamic State loyalists in Syria have made attempts in recent weeks to expand the extremist group’s territory near the border with Israel, but have been twice thwarted by Syrian rebels along the Golan Heights. Israel has not yet responded to the incidents, even as mortar shells from the battles with ISIS fighters landed across the border into Israeli territory, Israeli news site Ynetnews said.

In the past, Israel has increased its forces in the Golan Heights near the Syrian border when shells fired by the Syrian army spilled over into Israeli territory, the Jerusalem Post said. However, Israel has remained quiet during the past two weeks as rebel fighters from Syria repelled militants loyal to the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Islamic State Claims To Have Captured An Israeli Arab Mossad Spy

An Islamic State publication released on February 12, 2015, claims Muhammad Said Ismail Musallam is a Mossad informant from Jerusalem.

WNU Editor: There are too many contradictions in this story .... but I doubt that the Islamic State cares. In their minds they have a spy, and as we all know .... they do not treat their prisoners well.

Israel Sees The Islamic State At Its Borders

ISIS Closing In On Israel From The North And The South -- Riyadh Mohammed, The Fiscal Times

The war against ISIS is taking a dangerous, perhaps inevitable turn. The terror organization has been keen to expand to southern Syria and the Syrian capital of Damascus. Now it says it has recruited three Syrian rebel groups operating in the south of the country in an area bordering the Israeli occupied Golan Heights — that have switched their loyalties to ISIS.

This switch means that Israel, the U.S.’s closest ally in the Middle East, could be threatened from the southwest by the Egyptian ISIS group of Ansar Bait al-Maqdis in Sinai and by ISIS in southern Syria.

The ISIS war is not going well at all for the US-led alliance in Syria. ISIS and al-Nusra Front, al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, are still the dominant rebel groups in the country. The U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army is still not a reliable fighting force.

Israeli Lookouts Scanning Syrian Landscape For Islamic State Flag -- Washington Free Beacon

Three groups close to border pledged fealty to IS

JERUSALEM—Israeli lookouts on the Golan Heights are scanning the Syrian landscape for the black flag of the Islamic State after three small jihadi groups close to the border this week pledged fealty to the radical group.

The jihadist militias are among a number of rebel groups, both Islamist and secular, fighting the Damascus regime of Bashar al-Assad in the area opposite the Golan Heights. During the three years of the Syrian civil war, none of the groups in this loose coalition has attacked Israeli border positions, focusing instead on their battles with regime forces. These skirmishes, sometimes only a few hundred yards from the border, are easily visible from Israeli positions on high ground.

Why Israel Loses No Sleep Over Islamic State

A masked man speaking in what is believed to be a North American accent in a video that Islamic State militants released in September 2014 is pictured in this still frame from video obtained by Reuters October 7, 2014.

Here’s Why Israel Loses No Sleep Over Islamic State -- Dimi Reider, Reuters

At first sight, it seems that Israel is just as preoccupied with the rise of Islamic State as anyone else. Israeli media report diligently on the extremist group’s assault on the Kurdish town of Kobani and run at least a story every few days on its atrocities. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu references Islamic State frequently, as do other Israeli ministers. And the stories of two Palestinian citizens of Israel who died fighting for the group have been recently featured in the press.

Still, Israel remains the least concerned and least directly threatened country in a region increasingly rocked by Islamic State’s advance. It certainly does not see the group as an external threat. Shocking though the events in Syria and Iraq are, Israel is far beyond the range of even the most sophisticated of Islamic State’s weapons. The group’s immediate territorial interests do not extend to anywhere near Israeli borders, and its support in areas adjacent to Israel is still negligible. What’s more, unlike many militant groups and states in the region, Islamic State has declared itself emphatically disinterested in intervening in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, preferring instead to draw its support from Sunni revanchism and introducing a semblance of order into war-torn regions of Iraq.

My Comment:  Israel is on the Islamic State's radar .... but Israel is not their priority right now. Their focus is to consolidate the territory that is under their control, and to absorb additional Sunni dominated areas. After that .... who knows. For Israel .... they are going to stay out of this Arab fight .... and hope that they all end up killing each other off.

* Israeli Defence Ministry declines comment
* Israel concerned Islamic State could reach its borders

JERUSALEM, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Israel has provided satellite imagery and other intelligence in support of the U.S.-led aerial campaign against Islamic State in Iraq, a Western diplomat said on Monday.

Once "scrubbed" of evidence of its Israeli origin, the information has often been shared by Washington with Arab and Turkish allies, the diplomat said.

Israel's Defence Ministry neither confirmed nor denied involvement in any international efforts against the militant group.

"We don't comment on any assistance by us, or if there is such assistance, in the fight against ISIS," said Yaacov Havakook, spokesman for ministry, using one of Islamic State's former names.
