Nancy Pelosi thinks that the U.S. is doomed if Donald Trump becomes president again and says the latest indictment of the ex-President stands the best chance of getting him into prison rather than the White House. 

The former House Speaker launched the war of words with Trump after claiming he looked like a 'scared puppy' during his D.C. court appearance on Thursday. 

She also called the third and latest indictment against Trump 'beautiful' and said he knows he is going to have to face the music for trying to overturn the 2020 election results.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited the heavily-fortified DMZ during her trip to South Korea on Thursday, another controversial stop after her touchdown in Taiwan.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to visit Taiwan on her trip to Asia, despite warnings from China that its military 'will not sit idly by' if she does. 

Senior Taiwanese government officials and a US official both told CNN that the stop is on her trip, even though it is not on her public itinerary. 

Reports from TVBS News in Taiwan have said Pelosi could arrive in Taipei as early as tomorrow night and her team has booked two hotels, although there is no mention of the visit in her official itinerary. The US official added that defense department officials were working on securing a plan to keep her safe, according to CNN.

There is a time and place for the U.S. to send a diplomatic and political message to China when it comes to Taiwan. Now is not the time. The Ukraine war is escalating, and Europe is facing a very real energy and economic crisis that needs to be addressed right now. Pelosi's trip to Taiwan is just a distraction, and it will raise tensions to an unnecessary level.

Bloomberg: China Issues Private Warnings to US on Pelosi’s Taiwan Trip: FT 

(Bloomberg) -- China issued strong private warnings to the US government about a planned trip to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which included a possible military response, the Financial Times reported. 

The warnings were much stronger than those made previously when China wasn’t pleased with US policies and actions related to Taipei, the paper said, citing unidentified people familiar with the issue. China’s foreign ministry earlier this week officially vowed to take a “resolute and strong” response to any Taiwan visit by Pelosi, which was reported to be next month. 

Her trip would be the first by a House speaker to Taipei since 1997. Pelosi’s office didn’t respond to a request from the Financial Times for comment about whether she might abandon her trip.

U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi hinted that the Pentagon expressed concern her plane "would get shot down" by the Chinese if she makes a rumored visit to Taiwan this summer. 

The California Democrat is planning a trip to the self-governing island next month, a report in the Financial Times earlier this week claimed, drawing an angry response from Beijing. 

Pelosi refused to confirm the trip during a weekly press conference Thursday, saying "I don't ever discuss my travel plans." "You never even hear me say if I'm going to London, because it is a security issue," she said.

As to what is my take. 

I have to wonder if US House Speaker Pelosi is deliberately trying to do something that could lead to World War 3. Or at a minimum, keeping a good part of the world at edge. 

But there is a big problem with what Pelosi wants to do. I know China is not joking.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed on Friday that President Donald Trump’s recent success in securing peace deals in the Middle East was nothing more than “a distraction.”

“How much credit do you give the President of the United States for these peace agreements?” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked.

“Well, hopefully they won’t—hopefully they will beneficial [sic] to the region,” Pelosi said. “We’ve been waiting for a very long time for the president’s proposal for an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement that honored the two state solution. FOX News: Pelosi, other US lawmakers arrive in Jordan for meetings on Syria

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other U.S. lawmakers announced late Saturday U.S. time that they had arrived in Jordan for meetings with King Abdullah II and other officials regarding the situation in Syria.

Although touted as a "bipartisan" delegation, the group includes just one Republican -- Rep. Mac Thornberry of Texas, ranking member of the House Armed Services Commitee. Thornberry is among a group of Texas Republicans who've announced they won't seek reelection in 2020.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) yesterday challenged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) to provide the Justice Department with any evidence she has to prove her claim that officials of the Central Intelligence Agency committed the crime of lying to Congress.

Pelosi’s press spokesman, meanwhile, told CNSNews.com it was not a legitimate question to ask him if Pelosi intended to make a criminal referral of the matter to the Justice Department.

At a Thursday press conference, CNSNews.com asked Boehner: “Do you think that, if she has the evidence--and she’s made the claim--do you think she should go ahead and refer the names of those [CIA] case officers to the Justice Department?”

My Comment: I know that this issue is now only used by the Republicans to charge up the base. I also know that the main stream media has moved on, and that major bloggers are now avoiding the issue. But you cannot have the third most senior person in Government making these accusations, and then not backing it up. It poisons the entire process .... and worse .... it completely undermines the intelligence community and the work that it does.

Government must always be accountability .... and if she does not want to be held accountable for her remarks .... this issue must always be brought front and center until the next election cycle.
