BBC: Turkey detains 34 on suspicion of spying for Israel 

Turkey says it has seized 34 people who are alleged to have been involved in spying and planning abductions for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency. 

Officials said 57 addresses were raided in Istanbul and elsewhere and they were still searching for 12 more suspects. 

There was no immediate comment from Israel, but relations between the two countries have declined dramatically during Israel's war with Hamas. 

 Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared video of Operation Mole taking place. 

He said authorities had moved in after they had decided that Israeli intelligence was seeking to carry out "tactical tasks such as reconnaissance, pursuit, assault, and kidnapping against foreign nationals residing in our country".

Reuters: Turkey's Erdogan says Hamas is not terrorist organisation, cancels trip to Israel 

ANKARA (Reuters) -Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, in his strongest comments yet on the Gaza conflict, said on Wednesday the Palestinian militant group Hamas was not a terrorist organisation but a liberation group fighting to protect Palestinian lands. 

NATO member Turkey condemned the civilian deaths caused by Hamas's Oct. 7 rampage in southern Israel, but also urged Israeli forces to act with restraint in their response. Ankara has strongly criticised Israel's bombardment of Gaza. 

"Hamas is not a terrorist organisation, it is a liberation group, 'mujahideen' waging a battle to protect its lands and people," he told lawmakers from his ruling AK Party, using an Arabic word denoting those who fight for their faith.

Hurriyet Daily News: Turkish intelligence busts Iranian plans to kidnap, attack Israelis 

Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and police busted the Iranian intelligence service SAVAMA in Istanbul on June 17. 

They were allegedly preparing to kidnap and attack Israeli diplomats and tourist groups in Istanbul. 

They have determined that the shooters who planned to take part in the attacks were in Istanbul. 

MİT and police have received information that kidnappings and killings were planned against Israelis living or visiting as tourists in Istanbul and against a former Israeli ambassador and his wife who were staying at a hotel in the Beyoğlu district.
