Will Removing Former President Trump From The 2024 Ballot Cause Chaos That Will Spin Out Of Control?

 

Daily Mail: Trump is backed by more than TWO DOZEN states' attorneys general in Supreme Court fight - who warn of 2024 'chaos' that will 'spin out of control' if he's removed from ballot 

* Republican AGs from 27 states filed a brief on Saturday backing Trump 

* Trump is appealing a Colorado court decision to remove him from state's ballot 

* The Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case on February 8 

Republican attorneys general from 27 states have filed a court brief supporting Donald Trump in his Supreme Court battle to remain on Colorado's 2024 presidential ballot. 

In a 22-page 'friend of the court' brief filed on Saturday, the attorneys general called on the high court to strike down a Colorado court decision barring Trump under the 14th Amendment's insurrectionist ban. 

The Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case on February 8, and its decision on Trump's eligibility to run for president will have far-reaching implications for the November election, after Maine acted separately to ban Trump on similar grounds.

WNU Editor: I am confident that the Supreme Court will overturn efforts by Democrats to use the law and regulations to ban the former President. But in the interim the Democrats are accomplishing their goal of not only diverting Trumps' focus away from the campaign and to the courts, but also draining his campaign coffers. 

Here is an easy prediction. In the even that the Supreme does choose to keep the ban (or some version) in place, the "chaos" and precedent that it will spawn will damage the entire US electoral process for decades.

In the GOP debate, the person that stood out for me was Vivek Ramaswamy. If last night was any indication, he is well positioned to advance in the polls and become a serious contender. I smiled when he said this (see tweet below).

Everyone knows that Donald Trump is a racist. How do we know? ‘Cause media says so, that’s how. Every single statement or off-the-cuff remark by Trump that could be deliberately misinterpreted or taken out of context, or twisted into meaning something entirely different, has been used to paint an ugly racist picture of the president. 

With black Americans, it’s worked. A poll earlier this year found 83 percent of blacks believing Trump is a racist. How could they not with every media outlet telling them it’s so and many prominent blacks in politics, entertainment, and sports reinforcing the narrative every chance they get? 

The so-called “leaders” of the minority communities were virulently opposed to Donald Trump’s re-election. It was nearly unanimous. There were notable exceptions, but brave it was for any black or Hispanic notable to back Trump in public. 

But as it turns out, many minority voters tuned out the anti-Trump noise and made an independent decision to back the president.

To say all of this is unfortunate is an understatement.

Daily Mail: 'You lied to us': Chris Cuomo slams Miles Taylor for denying on CNN that he was 'Anonymous' author - as the now unmasked whistleblower says Trump wanted to 'gas, electrify and shoot migrants at the border' 

 * Former Department of Homeland Security chief of staff Miles Taylor revealed that Trump once said he wanted migrants to be ‘gassed, electrified and shot’ 

 * Taylor made the claim during an interview with Chris Cuomo on CNN Wednesday night, hours after he revealed himself to the author, 'Anonymous' 

 * Taylor was criticized throughout Wednesday for his apparent part played in allowing the Trump’s border separation policy to be implemented 

 * When asked by how he allowed such a policy to be enacted, he denied supporting it, saying he 'fought' his 'a**' off to push back against the president 

 * Taylor also warned against what he said would prove to be a ‘catastrophic’ four years if Trump wins a second White House term next week 

 * He said he fears the president will feel completely emboldened to pursue ‘Nazi-like immigration policies’, and bring back border separation 

 * Cuomo put Taylor on blast for lying to fellow co-host Anderson Cooper mere weeks ago, when he denied he was Anonymous 

 * Cuomo asked why the public should believe him when he blatantly lied before, and also why should CNN keep him ‘on the payroll' as a contributor

 * 'You lied to us,' Cuomo said, in reference to Cooper's August interview 

Chris Cuomo on Wednesday night blasted newly-revealed 'Anonymous' author Miles Taylor for lying about his true identity during an August interview with Anderson Cooper, asking the network contributor, 'Why should CNN keep you on the payroll?' 

The tense exchange came as part of Taylor's first interview since he outed himself earlier Wednesday as the unnamed author of a bombshell 2018 New York Times article that chronicled a 'resistance' within the Trump administration. 'You lied to us, Miles,' Cuomo told the former Department of Homeland Security chief of staff. 'You were asked in August if you were “anonymous” here on CNN with Anderson Cooper, and you said ‘no.’
