Daily Mail: More Potential Whistleblowers Are Contacting Congress
The first two officials who came forward about the president’s pressure campaign on Ukraine seem to be just the beginning, according to Hill sources.
New potential whistleblowers are coming forward to the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, two congressional sources tell The Daily Beast.
They seem to be emboldened by the actions of the whistleblower whose explosive account of President Donald Trump’s phone call to Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky about investigating Trump’s domestic political rivals ignited the impeachment inquiry. Another whistleblower is known to have come forward.
Congressional investigators are currently vetting the new accounts they’ve received for credibility. Accordingly, knowledgeable sources would not discuss where in the government these new would-be whistleblowers come from, nor what they purport to have to say.

WNU Editor: I predict that in the next few months we will be hearing reports that hundreds of "whistleblowers" have approached Congress.

The NSA's Top Watchdog Says It Will Encourage Whistleblowers
Reuters: U.S. intelligence watchdog says it will encourage whistleblowers to come forward
The U.S. National Security Agency’s top oversight official, Robert Storch, is working to repair the spy agency’s reputation with whistleblowers in an effort to encourage staff to report wrongdoing internally, rather than go public.
“It’s really important we encourage whistleblowers to come forward and that they feel comfortable doing so and if there are allegations of reprisal then we take that very seriously,” Storch said in an interview with Reuters last week.
The spy agency has experienced a series of embarrassing leaks over the past five years, beginning with Edward Snowden’s 2013 high-profile exposure of secret NSA surveillance programs.
Getting more staff to come forward and report concerns internally through Storch’s office could reduce the number of leaks, said intelligence community historian Steven Aftergood.

Expect More Whistle-Blowers And Leakers Coming From The U.S. Intel And Military Establishment
U.S. Navy
The Hacker Who Worked On A Navy Nuclear Aircraft Carrier -- Alexis C. Madrigal, The Atlantic
And the sensitive information he and his friends stole
Nicholas Knight and his hacker crew, Digi7al, were a lot like other hacking crews. According to a Federal indictment filed this week, they broke into computers, took information, posted it, and boasted about their exploits.
But there is a key difference: Nicholas Knight was employed by the Navy on the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman. He called himself a "nuclear black hat," black hat being a common term for a broad array of malicious hackers (think outlaw motorcycle clubs).
Knight was working as sysadmin supporting the ship's nuclear reactor. But the indictment alleges, he was also hacking Los Alamos National Laboratory, AT&T, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, the Toronto Police Service, and the Navy itself.

My Comment: I suspect that Nicholas Knight and his hacker crew (Digi7al) are not the only hacker/whistle-blower group that America's military/intel/ and political establishments are now facing. Wikileaks and NSA leaker Edward Snowden have galvanized many who think like them and who are now (probably) presently employed in sensitive U.S. organizations. I expect more intel/military/political revelations from other sources in the months and years to come.

An Afghan Whistle Blower Still Has His Job And Rank
This Lone Army Colonel Is Risking It All By Telling America The Lies About Afghanistan -- Business Insider
Unlike government whisteblowers who have received hostile treatment from the Obama Administration — Peter Van Buren, Jesselyn Radack, John Kiriakou, Sibel Edmonds and Bradley Manning (to name a few) — a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army has written a damning indictment of America's highest military officers and the Afghan war without losing his job or rank.
Lt. Col. Daniel Davis published a candid 84-page report (via Rolling Stone) that is highly critical of the 2009 Afghan surge and the distortion of truth by senior ranking officials about the conditions on the ground in Afghanistan.

My Comment: His report is still recommended reading for those who are interested in what is happening in Afghanistan. I also concur with the above post that by staying away from revealing classified intel .... he has avoided being prosecuted. But man-o-man .... he has been walking a very fine line.

Meet The NSA Whistleblower Who Predicted Today's Domestic Spying And Data Revelations 6 Months Ago
The NSA Whistleblower Who Guessed Exactly What Was Going On, Six Months Ago -- Quartz
Last December in an interview with Russia Today (video above), former NSA crypto-mathematician William Binney disclosed the extent to which he believed the US government was not only capable of, but actively engages in spying on internet data and web activity across the country. Binney said that the FBI has access to the emails of everyone in the US, holds a target list and monitors every email to and from those contained on the list.
If the interview was alarming in its suggestion then, it’s downright scary considering this evening’s report from the Washington Post and the Guardian that the US government has allegedly been mining data from eight of the world’s largest internet companies, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and others. (The report mentions nine companies; one of them, YouTube, is part of Google.)

My Comment: The above video was done months ago .... and I am in awe on how much he is on the money (it is a must see for those who are concerned with today's NSA revelations). I have been aware of William Binney for the past few years .... but I was always skeptical of his claims. After today's revelations .... I am definitely not.

Kiriakou was jailed for revealing details of government use of waterboarding and disclosing identity of an undercover agent.
John Kiriakou, the former CIA agent who revealed details of the US government's use of waterboarding against senior al-Qaida suspects, has written an open letter describing his time in federal prison surrounded by drug dealers, fraudsters and child molesters.
Kiriakou is three months into a 30-month sentence having pleaded guilty to disclosing the identity of an undercover CIA officer to an ABC reporter. He is one of six current or former public officials to be prosecuted by the Obama administration under the Espionage Act – twice the number of cases instigated by all previous presidents combined.

Pentagon Whistleblowers Have Been Left Vulnerable To Reprisals
Pentagon Report Says Defense Department Whistleblowers Have Been Left Vulnerable To Reprisals -- Washington PostThe Defense Department has inadequately protected from reprisals whistleblowers who have reported wrongdoing, according to an internal Pentagon report, and critics are calling for action to be taken against those who have been negligent.
The report, dated May 2011, accuses the officials, who work in the Defense Department’s Office of Inspector General, of persistent sloppiness and a systematic disregard for Pentagon rules meant to protect those who report fraud, abuses and the waste of taxpayer funds, according to a previously undisclosed copy. The report was obtained by the Project on Government Oversight, a nonprofit watchdog group.

This Is What Is Wrong With The U.S. Military
Marine Whistleblower Franz Gayl: Security Clearance Removal Is Retaliation -- Washington Post
Franz Gayl made a name for himself a few years ago as a Marine Corps whistleblower, a civilian scientist who helped push the Pentagon to shift its Iraqi weapons strategy. Senators called him a hero for disclosures that helped get heavily armored vehicles known as MRAPs to the battlefield.
But a few weeks ago, Gayl found himself booted from a room where confidential materials are handled and stripped of his security clearance. His superiors accused him of "a disregard for regulations, a pattern of poor judgment and intentional misconduct" - behavior that they said "indicates you are unreliable and untrustworthy."
