Eyewitnesses have described the horrific moment a lorry ploughed into a crowd of revellers celebrating Bastille Day this evening, killing at least 60 people.
An eyewitness said he saw the lorry driver slam his vehicle into a crowd of people watching the fireworks in the French resort city of Nice and then emerge shooting, killing even more bystanders.
In addition to an estimated 60 people dead a further 150 are believed to have been injured in the incident, although both numbers are likely to rise.
One eyewitness told BFM TV: 'Everyone was calling run, run, run there's an attack run, run, run. We heard some shots. We thought they were fireworks because it's the 14th of July.
'There was great panic. We were running too because we didn't want to stick around and we went into a hotel to get to safety. '
