U.S. Southern Border Migration Crisis Worsens

Washington Times: Record arrests of Illegal-immigrant families on border bolster Trump's emergency claim

Illegal immigration continues to break records on the southwestern border — and they’re not good ones.

The number of families snared trying to sneak into the U.S. soared by 50 percent in one month alone, setting an all-time record with more than 36,000 family members apprehended, Homeland Security officials announced Tuesday.

The government has also encountered some 70 groups of at least 100 migrants during the first five months of the fiscal year, shattering records and placing new challenges on Border Patrol agents.

A tip:
Most if no all of those folks aching to come to the U.S. are from Central America. Why does the Mexican govt not stop them from coming across their border and allowing them to travel the length of Mexico? Why doesn't our president ask/tell/insist that the Mexican govt prevent them from entering Mexico to get to the northern border? Perhaps we could build a much smaller wall at the border of Mexico where. And have both countries pay for it

It may be that the massive increase in media exposure both domestic and international regarding refugee/immigrant migration has led to some measure of herd mentality. Pent up need to find a better life of course has a big impact. Not really a new phenomenon in the world that saw at least one similar immigration from Europe to the Amreicas as people escaped religious persecution.

As someone once said, 'all of the problems the Indians (of America) are experiencing can be traced directly back to an ill informed immigration program'.

Perhaps we are seeing a glimpse of the future as global warming continues.
